I can't be arsed to read through the whole thread but I'm guessing the gist is:
Fuck him off
Bring back Darel Russell, he always tracked back

Needs a shed load of work in the close season by the coaching staff on the defensive side of the game and a sharp word in the ear from the manager about what is expected of him.

Part of the reason he looks like he isn't enjoying it is because he's so frustrated. I've never known a player ask for the ball so much as him, and for some unknown reason, his team mates not trust him with it so much either. When he drops deep and asks for the ball, just bloody give it to him! How many times today did he just drop his shoulder and glide past a couple of players? Unbelievably talented. Wasting your time mate The kangaroo court is sitting I'm not part of any Kangaroo court Wezza. I'm just giving a honest opinion of what I saw today. Imbula looks like a world beater at times with the ball at his feet and definitely has shit loads of ability. My concerns are about his willingness to do the dirty side of the game and about how he looks as though he doesn't want to be here to me. Obviously he needs time to settle and hopefully my concerns about him not looking like he wants to be here will fade given time and that Hughes can get him doing the hard yards which, let's face it he needs to do as a central midfield player.

I'm not so sure the first sentence of your post is right. He looks dis interested to me, whether that's his style or not we will have to see, and as talented as he looks on the ball, it is all worthless unless he shows the willingness to do the dirty side of the game, which as a central midfielder he has to do. My first sentence is spot on. I've watched him closely since he's been here. I've lost count the amount of times he's dropped deep to pick the ball off the keeper only to be blanked in favour of a ball out to the full back (Across all three keepers btw) or a ball to the centre half to launch the ball forward. That side of his frustration has been here since day one. Only sporadically has he been "trusted" to take the ball and play through midfield. I can't recall the game but he lost it on one of the few occasions he was trusted and the draw bridges have been pulled up completely. Off the ball he needs work and his strength in one on one situations needs work too. That can be worked on and coached. The strength can be fixed over the summer and through Pre Season. Another factor at play here is I think he struggles with the pace - which may or may not be fixed based on time here coupled with more fitness work. He's used to Ligue 1, which is super slow, and the Portuguese league, which isn't much faster. In both of those leagues (i've seen both but more of Ligue 1) there are far more periods of 'down time' where players can have a breather. Here it's 100mph for 90 minutes and it can catch players out. I think it's a fine line between struggling with a few things and looking dis-interested IMO.

He is clearly very talented on the ball. Drops his shoulder and glides past players like they're not there.
But off it, he looks completely disinterested. Doesn't even make an effort to close down the opposition players. He just ambles across the pitch and watches other players do the defensive work.
It did concern me how he kicked the ball away twice (he's done it in previous games too). Seems to have a similar personality to what N'Zonzi was like when he was first here.
Think he'll be great for us next season though.

I watched him very closely today and he hardly ever showed for the ball like you say he does. Let's hope you're right when you say about the pace of the game. I'm fully aware that foreign players need time to adjust and I am in no way righting the lad off because he looks superb at times. My concern is attitude because that cannot be coached.

Other than the fact he can't tackle, hasn't got a bloody clue what's going on around him and hardly ever tracks runners I think for the best part of 19 million quid he's an absolute bargain.

But there is no getting away from the fact that he is a central midfielder so he has to put in the hard yards as well. I can cope with him not being a brilliant tackler, or header of the ball and all that but what I can't cope with is a complete lack of effort when going the other way (towards our own goal). He shows no appetite for the dirty side of the game as far as I've seen and it's not good enough.

He seems to lose the ball an awful lot. The finished product he certainly ain't, but there is a very good footballer somewhere in that languid frame trying to escape though, I am sure of that. Lot of sense there. Watching today's effort he almost had that classic 'game of two halves '. Nutmegging with ease and driving forward, slide rule passes. Second half seemed like one touch too many and ended up being mugged on a couple of occasions. 3 months is nothing and as you say, not quite the finished article but it's certainly all there.

Holy shit he was brilliant now he's shite only on the Oatie. He has all the attributes to be brilliant, Hughes and the coaches need to work on a few aspects he does remind me of Zonz when he first played in this country, it is up to our management team to help him realise his potential, only concern for me is how much we have paid for a player who we really needed to hit the ground running to fill the void left by Zonz, it is not the players fault. Bang on.

I know you're not writing him off. He did show for the ball today and he showed at least three times in the first half alone. I know he did because I tapped one of our party on the shoulder specifically to tell them to look for this very thing. Second half was a bit different because he was playing closer to Crouch.

Imbula has played 9 games for Stoke so far. He's been our best player in 5 of those games. How can people write him off? He's not very good tracking back but that's probably due to lack of stamina more than anything else. He didn't play much at Porto. I think we've found a real gem in him (even though he didn't come cheap ) Top summary. Pretty much what I saw from my seat today.

He spent a good 3 minutes moaning about the ball being constantly above his head, first to the manager, then to Arnie then the rest of the team. It was the highlight of the match for me. I was pissing myself laughing. He did loads of good stuff today and some shocking stuff as well. He makes etherington look 2 footed. Just for his rant, I like him. Thank the lord he isn't playing in a tony pulis team

Let's face it, on this Board, whenever real talent arrives, that talent gets slagged off. Remember Nzonzi? Arni was also a lazy, attitude stricken piece of shit.
I'm old enough to remember fans slagging off Hudson. He too was a lazy piece of work (apparently). Coming from London didn't help his cause in those days either.
Imbula is pure class. I know it takes time for that to sink in around here, but eventually the knuckle draggers will realise it.
