gutted to hear the news that Colin passed away yesterday. A true gent in every way and a close family friend. Just glad my boy got to meet him at Christmas down at the ice cream yard. Rest in peace big fella we will never forget you.

When I was a kid Colin lived in the same street with his wife and kids. Nice people all of them. My memories of him are vague since it was 40 yrs ago but always remember him as a cheerful, friendly bloke always willing to help. He would only be early to mid 60's in age I would have thought?

Always remember going to his house and asking his daughter to ask him for a tub of ice cream to take back to our house. And his lambretta with all the mirrors on. His brother lived 3 doors away as well. Always asked about my mum and family when he used to work the doors up Hanley as well. A really nice bloke taken too soon.

On holiday in the US at the moment so apologies if already posted! Just heard that a very good friend of mine has passed away. Many of you will know Colin as he worked the door at the main reception at the Brit for many years. Those from the Wistaston area of Crewe will remember him as Colin the ice cream man back in the 80's. Yes, I know Colin was a Vale man but he was also a massive Stoke on Trent man, one of the founder members of the Golden Torch Scooter Club. Myself and my wife spent hours reminiscing with him at the Whitby Northern Soul weekender each July. RIP my friend from all of the Pointon Family.
