Wasn't she the lass who drove the car Marc Bolan died in ? Yep, she's the mother of Marc's son Rolan. Only just seen this. Apropos nothing I worked with Marc Bolan's mother (Phyllis Feld) in the eighties not long after Marc's death. Phyllis was a stores clerk at London Transport who saw very little of Rolan and even less of Marc's wealth as Marc was legally narried to another woman who contested his estate for many years and Gloria had returned penniless to her family in the US taking Rolan with her. To say that Phyllis was 'salt of the earth' would be an understatement. She smoked like a trouper and used language that would make a Boothen Ender blush - a fair education for a callow lad from Stoke making his way in London. Oh - and Rolan's middle name is 'Seymour'.

Hi Paul, Appreciate that the floor isn't massive but I wouldn't say tiny either! However it is what it is, Nantwich Town have Kindly given us the use of the room "Gratis." Charities at this time are struggling due to the pandemic .... I know that this particular one is!

Hey Charlie, I think about you everytime I pass a fillin' station On account of all the grease you used to wear in your hair I still have that record of "Little Anthony & The Imperials" But someone stole my record player, how do you like that?

If I had to choose, I think I'd rather lose a turntable than my records ...

You can't whack the now Reverend , big Al Green, resident in Memphis and referred to in ' Walking in Memphis ' Don't forget to look who's next to you in the urinal......but keep your eyes up . ...... eu.commercialappeal.com/videos/entertainment/people/elvis-presley/2017/08/09/singer-al-green-reflects-meeting-elvis-presley/103313928/............. From Wikipedia.... " Mahalia Jackson, all the great gospel singers. But the most important music to me was those hip-shakin’ boys: Wilson Pickett and Elvis Presley. When I was 13, I just loved Elvis Presley. Whatever he got, I went out and bought."[13]
But many " unusual" things happened to him.....
From Wikipedia....
On October 18, 1974, Green's girlfriend, Mary Woodson, assaulted him and then died by suicide at his Memphis home.[32][5] Although she was already married with three children, Woodson became upset when Green refused to marry her.[33] She doused him with a pot of boiling grits as he was preparing for bed in the bathroom, causing second-degree burns on his back, stomach, and arms which required skin grafts.[32][12] Shortly after, Woodson fatally shot herself with his .38 handgun.[34] Police found an apparent suicide note inside Woodson's purse that declared her intentions and her reasons.[35] A few days prior, Green had sent Woodson to convalesce at the home of his friend after she had taken a handful of sleeping pills and slit her wrists.[12] Green cited this incident as a wake-up call to change his life.[5] Days after Green was released from Baptist Memorial Hospital Memphis, where he was treated for his burns, he was reportedly held hostage at gunpoint by his cousin who demanded that he owed her money.[36] Green refused to press charges.[37] In 1976, Green established the Full Gospel Tabernacle church in Memphis.[12][38] Green resides and preaches in Memphis, near Graceland.[39] He is a member of the Prince Hall Masons, the African-American wing of Freemasonry, at the Thirty-Third Degree.[40] In September 2013, Green's sister Maxine Green was reported missing from her assisted living home in Grand Rapids, Michigan. According to her daughter Lasha, Green has not reached out to the family about his sister.[41] As of March 2020, she is still missing.[
Green's former secretary, Linda Wills, filed a $25,000 civil suit against him in 1974. Wills charged that Green beat her and shoved her through a glass door in his Memphis office after a dispute about how much back pay she was entitled to for her duties.[47] The civil suit was dropped because of "conflicting testimony," but in 1975 they settled a $100,000 lawsuit for assault and battery charges.[37][48] In 1977, Green and his former organ player Larry Robinson were arrested for assault on Memorial Day in Irving, Texas. According to Robinson, Green and his bodyguards jumped him when he confronted Green about owed money from previous gigs. They both posted bond on a misdemeanor charge.[49] In 1978, Green was charged with assault and battery for allegedly beating Lovie Smith unconscious with a tree limb. The charges were dismissed after Smith, who had moved, did not receive a subpoena and therefore missed the court date.[50]
