I've seen pictures with water near it, so obviously it's going to be used for a rowing club and off shore investments =)

Just watching it on London news, it was football fans who have fought for this on the freedom of information rule. LLDC are appealing and Boris Johnson is supporting their appeal

I'm sure that there's been plenty of brown envelopes involved. If they're trying to block it it suggests something dodgys gone on.

1 of the most ridiculous things I've ever read. Does that mean they get rid of anything claret and blue for the other 340 days? Surely if they're saying that there should be no branding or colours or that's free advertising. If they have a club shop can it only open 30 days a year?

They already have a club shop in the nearby Westfield shopping centre, only a couple of mins walk from the stadium.

Remember thinking how magnificent Man City's training complex was as we drove past after the 1-0 away win their last season, they may get a good deal on the stadium but they have spent massively on improving the area, and when you listen to Vincent Kompany talking about the importance of having that facility located in the community that supports the club and the connect it engenders between players/club and fans you're inclined to believe it when their owners say they're in it for the long haul.

A fictional farce: Don't blame the Hammers
LLDC -Hi Karen – well you know WHU won a fair tender process to purchase the Olympic stadium from State ownership and you were going to pay for the conversion costs to make it suitable to play football in take it of our hands completely but allow UK athletics to use it when needed – well Levy and Hearn have thrown their toys out the pram, someone in Europe's cried state aid and we can’t do this anymore.
WHU – And?
LLDC – So we’ve got to repeat the process and offer it to everyone again on a lease basis.
WHU – OK?
LLDC – Hi Karen, well alongside Athletics which will meet once or twice every five years, we’ve interesting offers from Essex County Cricket Club, Rugby people and someone who wants to stage driving stuff but we can’t see how this will commercially support the stadium for 365 days a year and we’ll be losing lots of money which won’t make people happy. In fact it will get used so little the whole area would probably fall into decline and we wouldn’t be meeting our covenant to deliver the Olympic legacy.
WHU – So – what about Levy and Hearn?
LLDC – Well Levy wanted to knock it down and it was going to cause some issues anyway if Spurs moved across two boroughs to Newham. And now he’s got Boris to fund a lot of the surrounding area around WHL we’re wondering how serious he was about it anyway and Hearn hasn’t got enough fans to hold hands round the stadium or money to finance it.
WHU – Well why don’t you stick with the original plan to reduce to a 25,000 athletics stadium?
LLDC – Well our money people ran the exercise and as it turns out that won’t work either so you’re the only realistic anchor tenant that could make it viable, maintain the legacy Lord Coe promised and save us from a lot of egg on face etc…
WHU – Oh well seeing as you’ve f—ked us around for six years when we’ve always been the only realistic occupier of the stadium built on our patch, ignored advise to liaise with the potential future occupier of the stadium since 2006 (when the games were announced) and against the advice of many experts built a stadium without a sustainable use after and we've won a transparent and open tender process previously - f—k you!!
LLDC – Pretty please!!

They are paying 2.5M pa for 100 years. No mention of inflation, but I assume it is factored in. So they are paying £250M in current values for which they get use of the stadium and lots of stuff (policing primarily) thrown in.
The stadium cost £272M to make it suitable for football, so straight away we made a loss on this.
I'm no fan of Olympic stadiums going to rack and ruin, but there needs to be some consideration upfront of what happens to the facilities and any losses factored into the decision making process over whether to bid.
Incidentally, the swimming pool is now used as a public pool and is rather nice too.
Velodrome is used for public cycling and other events
So basically both are open to the public.

As we have paid through the nose for WHUs new ground do we all get in for free?
The deal is an absolute fucking disgrace. WHU almost certainly got more for the sale of The Boleyn than they paid to improve the Olympic stadium. They will make more at their new much bigger ground on match days than they made at the old ground.
This deal will probably lead to the end of Orient as a professional football club.
Seb Coe, Boris Johnson etc have shown incompetency beyond belief.
Blatter/FIFA style corruption would be the obvious explanation if the total buffoonery of Coe and Boris and their cretinous tory chums wasn't so clear to entire population.
Well done WHU; you have shafted the entire tax paying population, and elevated yourself to the elite level of European football in one fell swoop.

As we have paid through the nose for WHUs new ground do we all get in for free? No, you'll have to pay just like me. You haven't paid for WHU's ground you and me have paid for successive Government f--k ups, poor planning, commercial ignorance and ego. The deal is an absolute fucking disgrace. WHU almost certainly got more for the sale of The Boleyn than they paid to improve the Olympic stadium. They will make more at their new much bigger ground on match days than they made at the old ground. Correct in every sense and Coates for Stoke given the same opportunity would do the same. This deal will probably lead to the end of Orient as a professional football club. Absolute f--king shite. Orient will stand or fall on their own merit. They're already surrounded by Hammers, Spurs and Arsenal - all less than a three mile radius with much of their support made up of fans from these clubs anyway. Hearne (the chancer) raped the place before he left selling off lots of real estate they owned and banked it if you want to get your facts correct. Seb Coe, Boris Johnson etc have shown incompetency beyond belief. Correct - but don't forget the Labour Government that approved the original planning and legacy.Blatter/FIFA style corruption would be the obvious explanation if the total buffoonery of Coe and Boris and their cretinous tory chums wasn't so clear to entire population. Corruption no chance. This process has been vetted at every legal level including the mugs in Westminster, Brussels and Strasbourg. Coe, LLDC and Labour Government correct and to a lesser extent Boris having to dispose of a white elephant not of his making. The major concept decisions on this were made long before. Well done WHU; you have shafted the entire tax paying population, and elevated yourself to the elite level of European football in one fell swoop. Well done WHU. Correct. They've actually saved the day from a potentially bigger failure. Anyone that's been down our way know's that the area where the OS is built was a toxic industrial wasteland and its re-development has created jobs, industry, housing and public sporting resource with these other facilities much easier to manage. If the centre piece (The Stadium) wasn't properly looked after it'd turn into an Athens or Barcelona!! The Dave's are cute business people but don't confuse taking advantage of a business opportunity with shafting anyone. The mugs that have shafted everyone sit in our Governments upper chamber, UK Athletics and London City Hall. The fact this whole farce derives from monumental incompetence from people that handle the public purse isn't lost on me - but West Ham have only done what any other commercial business would do given the opportunity. You're also failing to note WE WON A TENDER TO BUY THE FUCKING THING but got fucked over by others who had other agendas. As David Dein ex Arsenal said in 2006, West Ham in the Olympic stadium frightens him to death. www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/west-ham-want-olympic-stadium-425709.html"
