That came as a surprise. Träd, gräs och stenar. Trees, Grass & Stone are my current favourite late Sixties Swedish psychedelic outfit, {and possibly still going}, also a fan of their earlier noisier incarnation Parson Sound. Hope you enjoyed it.,

Hunter's Super Moon rising in Aries.
Was driven to listen to Killing Joke's fourth album 'Fire Dances' in prep for Samhain, Fawkes, confligrations and such.. remember I bought it on release and it was a huge disappointment, didn't realise at the time it was a new bassist {Paul Raven rip} and that the band were collectively involved in some heavy heavy drug abuse, gone were the throbbing bass lines, and keyboad/synth squelchings and such, it was/is a stripped down thin, tinny, sounding affair, trademark chiming guitars become scratchy.. with about three passable tracks: 'Dominator', 'Frenzy', 'Let's Go' the remainder derivitive, forgettable..it has since been remastered with a recognition that the band had no idea what was happening at the time, and maybe I should perservere with that version {if there was time in a day}.. I've always struggled to engage with The Joke since, the first threee remain regular plays and still hit as hard as they did back in th'day. So I was pleasantly surprised when giving the fairly recent 'Pylon' a go. Grrr. Angered and prescient.
Crows, fairly newish new 'punk' quite liking the cut of their jib.
Up there with Steve Albini's finest work, 'engineering' on the Mclusky fantastically heavy and abrasive as heck 'The Difference..' album.

A shout out for the most likely last ever release by Broadcast, Distant Call (Collected Demos 2000 - 2006).
Trish Keenan and a guitar and that's pretty much it. God, she was so good, what a tragic loss to music.
Anyway, utterly spellbinding music.
RIP Trish, and Broadcast. Sleep well.

Talking of ms Hoffs, for me possibly her finest delivery, from the fantastic mid eighties compilation/cover/collaboration album 'Rainy Day' featuring the cutting edge of US alt/clleg rock led by David Roback {Rain Parade, Mazzy Star etc}.
