Have you ever returned to an album after a long time away and thought... shit! this is one of the greatest albums I ever owned, why did I stop listening to it? So many killer tracks that you really connect with... It's hard to pick a track to showcase it.

A genius in our lifetime ...

... the one and only Mr Alvin Lee. Better than Hendrix in my opinion, but there you go. Unfortunately, never saw them play, just a few years too young

Pleasantly surprised to hear it on 6Music very early this morning had to lean over and turn the volume up to 11

Burlesque by Family- I bought the vinyl single in 1972 aged 12. I've played it numerous times since then and I cannot put into words how much I love that record- it just gets better every time. The SOUND is just awesome. I know this is old fashioned but listen to it a good hi-fi system if you can. The sound of the drums and bass is fantastic, the main guitar is well up in the mix but allows the space for the other instruments to be heard in all their glory- even the synthesizer really adds something to the record. The stars really did align for them in the studio that day. And I love the B side as well, a song called the Rocking R's that somehow didn't even make it onto the Bandstand LP.
