Thea Gilmore sang My Friend the Sun at my wife's 50th birthday party ... it's her favourite song (Dee's that is, not Thea's!) Great song one of my favourites Absolutely love My Friend the Sun and it's one of my top 20 tracks I think, but that changes most days. Try this version:

I agree mate, but like this too. Chapman is still treading the boards as well!

Danny Bemrose was a promising young striker for Huddersfield Town when a minor injury turned his life upside down. He always lived and breathed footie but when he broke three toes in a freak accident, he fell out of favour with the youth team manager who insisted that Bemrose had done it larking about. Seemingly on the football scrapheap at 19, he picked up his Dad's guitar and learned to play. Forming a band, they spent years trying to make it on the UK music scene until one of their songs was picked up by a producer in the States and sales went ballistic when it was played on Grey's anatomy. Still relatively unknown here, they've been doing very nicely playing across America. Rather annoyingly I've never had chance to see or book them as they still don't seem to play UK dates. I love all of their music but I like dibbing into the stripped back accoustic tunes they play on their video blogs.. Like this

This still stunning piece of music was on the radio this morning Just how good is that? I don't think I've heard it on the radio since it was in the charts, if it came on the radio today, whilst I was driving, I'm pretty sure I'd have to pull over for three or four minutes! đź‘Š

I downloaded Amoreuse a few months ago and it reminded me of listening to Noel Edmonds on Radion 1 on Sunday mornings when I was 12 or 13. A lovely track.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone mention Judee Sill on this forum but I love her and this is one of the greatest songs ever written. It's probably one of my three funeral songs, so that's something to look forward to.
To quote an article on the great Andy Partridge: The music that was the most precious to Partridge was also somehow unbearable. A few years ago, he appeared on a BBC documentary singing the praises of another head case, the mighty Judee Sill. But when he began to play her song, “The Kiss,” he had to stop it. “Those notes climbing under her voice … Sorry; I can’t do it … It’s just too beautiful.” Handle with care.

Alanis Morissette on Jo Wiley's show tonight playing a couple of live tracks to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Jagged Little Pill and the forthcoming tour. Great album and a game changer for female artists. Amusing change of lyrics for tonight's performance of Ironic It's meeting the man of my dreams and then meeting his beautiful husband

They've been playing Disq's new single, Daily Routine, on 6 a lot, so I saw what else was out there. First album out very soon and this is another great track from a good, young, new band.

Thanks for the rec' of Monsters and Men.. not so much on that video but the female vocalist does sound very similar to Aimmee Driver from Scars. I also detected a bit of a similarity to Bjork at times. If you're going to check out Scars on 45, I wouldn't want you to miss this little gem.
