The repayment of the £2 million bonus is surely logical if he has lost the case. If the contract stipulated that the bonus was only payable if he stayed until the first game of the new season, then he clearly broke the contract.
Having lost the case then you'd expect he'd be liable for both sets of legal fees - that's normal.
I'd have thought that the best he could hope for on appeal would be a reduction in the £1 million damages.

Well, if so, I'd still have thought that a reduction would be the best he could hope for as that is the only "punishment" element in the verdict. The £2 million is simply repayment of money he should never have had under the contract and payment of the winner's legal fees by the loser is simply what usually happens in civil cases - and quite right too. If you win a civil case why should you have to pay your own fees?

What utter rubbish. The appeal courts will throw that out in milliseconds. Would Tone be able to go straight to the court of appeal from a premier league tribunal, or would he have to go to the high court first as that went really well for him last time !!

I couldn't hit you if I tried. You are untouchable...and bitter. The sort who would scratch a next door neighbour's car because he's doing better than you.

I find it amusing how all the usual suspect PHW's have infested a thread about our ex-manager, yet jump at the chance to tell those who defend Pulis on other threads to 'move on' because he's 'not our manager any more', and that anyone who defends him is just 'obsessed.
Irony and hypocrisy in equal measure, as usual.

Why did Palace pay him the bonus in the first place if he wasn't eligible for it?
