It's a good job the Villa fans did make a bit of noise yesterday, because yet again our home support was absolutely pitiful. What was there to sing about?

Nothing personal but I will love it if/when Villa go down. Hopefully they will take Sunderland and 'Castle with them. Like I say, it's nothing personal, it's just nice to see big clubs being relegated. Though the bloody smaller clubs don't seem to struggle so much anymore when they come up.
Would rather it was Sunderland, Castle & W.Brom though!!!

Quite a lot really when you think about it and look at the bigger picture. I agree with you that the game was a pretty dire spectacle, especially the first half, but surely the fans have a part to play in trying to pick the team up when we aren't performing too well? Our home crowd has gone right off the boil and even in the big games this season our crowd hasn't impressed me at all.

Yesterday the crowd needed picking up by a good performance. That's just sometimes how it goes. The bigger picture is we haven't really played that well at home all season barring a few moments. And the Man City game.

We've never won the European Cup but we've done the Autoglass Trophy twice.
You'll be able to have a crack at that in 2018.

Try telling that "two way street" bollocks to the Germans,Turks,Croats etc And the bigger picture is that we are currently sitting 8th in the Premier League, just missed out on a League cup final and are on course yet again to improve on our previous highest points totals of the past two seasons. That tells me that we have played well in more games than your ultra critical opinion thinks.

The football at home on the whole has been average at best. We've had a few good moments. A few really bad ones and then a lot of averageness in between. I just haven't enjoyed this season at all. It's felt like its gone on forever and there's been little to cheer. Hopefully Arnie will sign his contract and we can build a settled side. That's been a massive issue this season.

As the title says it will be sometime before we ,The Villa will be back unless we get you in the cups, so yesterday, The game, we huffed and puffed for a bit, conceeded a goal, heads down game over, yes we scored but that only gave the game an unrealistic scoreline, if you had been anywhere near your best it would and should of been many more ! I've stated on here many times this season how poor we are, well now you've seen it for yourselves we are truly shocking, no fight, no desire and no fucking idea ! The fans, gallows humour in bundles, but to be honest what else have we got ? We (the fans) have tried everything, vocal support at undeserved levels taking into account what we've been subjected to. Abuse after Wycombe whilst a bit over the top was fully deserved Abusing the owner in my opinion totally ineffective as the twat is never here Demo's again totally ineffective as as long as the cash is coming in they don't care The 'out of the door on 74' again in my opinion ineffective as we will be 'missing football' we've already paid for, I think turn your back on 74 for 1 min would be more of a statement ! So gallows humour it is As for Wilko the 'who r ya' was given and taken in jest he got a great ovation from our end The coin throwing, I didn't see it as I was at the back near the police platform, but totally out of order and as I've said every village has its idiots but worse we get more villages dispatch their idiots down the match ! I can only apologise on behalf of all genuine Villa fans for that So to sum up we're crap, we know we are but we will be back, not as soon as some think but we will return stronger and more like the proper football club we are, not the shambles currently masquerading as ASTON VILLA FOOTBALL CLUB Good luck for the rest of the season and beyond StaffsVilla PS. "Have you won the European Cup" ??? Fantastic post. All the best bud.

Talk about hijacking a thread. I thought this was about StaffsVilla saying goodbye to the Brit.
On that note...
I wish StaffsVilla, all Villa fans, and Aston Villa F C all the very best for the future.
It may take a few seasons in the second tier to get the club back to where it should be, but I do feel it will be for the best in the long run. Just do the double on the Blues if, and I sincerely hope they are, still in the same division.

All the best, StaffsVilla. It's always good to get posts off someone who obviously loves their club come what may, even when it kicks them in the teeth. Enjoy (and win) your local derbies next season.

My mates a huge Villa fan and is taking his kids to all the away games just incase they don't get to see the grounds again. With the money coming in next year I can see why. Personaly, I don't really care. Big club or not. They don't care about us one jot and would have been glad to see us go down the moment we came up.

You can have us as your Prem team until you get back :)

All the best, StaffsVilla. It's always good to get posts off someone who obviously loves their club come what may, even when it kicks them in the teeth. Enjoy (and win) your local derbies next season. If they win the local derbies (midlands) they'll piss the league with a record points total! I've always wondered why some clubs you think are ok and others not. Villa Brum Everton Liverpool Wednesday Sheff United West Brom Wolves Citeh Shit etc I do fear for the Villa. I have a 'Blackpool' feeling about them. I guess Learner has made a profit, so the price he can get for them, he won't make a loss? Their only chance is new ownership! Anyway, as other have said, you'll probably enjoy actually having a chance of winning something. Big away followings, real fans! Thinking about the day we were relegated, with Citeh, still engenders that horrible sinking feeling compounded by the fucking Vale staying up!

Hi Staffs,
There's no way Garde is the man for Villa's plight this season or next - you needed a Sean Dyche but you got a sulky frog.
Get the next manager right and a promotion campaign in The Championship will restore some pride.
I guess that depends upon the owner though...

I went to see the Villa a few tines with my Uncle Bob,god rest his soul, when they were in the 3rd division. Andy Lochead (StaffsVilla's avatar) was their main man then. Hard as nails and a bullet of a header.
Massive club, top support (MOTM for yesterday) they will be back.
Hopefully soon.

Unfortunately, I can see Villa struggling in the Championship (IMO they are already down). Just look at Fulham and Wolves after they went down within the last couple of years. To be honest, the best policy for Villa next season will be somehow trying to bin off all the high-earners and placing emphasis on the youth, such as Grealish.
As for yesterday, I thought we made Villa look somewhat better than they actually are, and we made hard work of it, but that was because we always struggle at home to teams down the bottom.

If anyone on here wants to take our top flight status for granted, Villa is a warning. Tbh I don't think many do, but some have high expectations that are often unrealistic. The Prem can be very unforgiving and we should be thankful that we have a good structure, based on an ENGLISH (and local) Chairman whose first thought is not about making money from the club. Villa have suffered for several seasons at the hands of a 'foreign' owner who appeared to ,lose heart / interest / funds (I'm not sure exactly which) a few years ago, so the investment in the club has not been there. As one pundit put it at the end of the last transfer window " whatever you spent in Tesco this month. it was more than Villa did on transfers!" If I could choose the 3 clubs to go down, Villa wouldn't be one of them...but getting Arsenal, Liverpool and Manure all relegated in the same season is probably just a wet pipe dream Good luck StaffsVilla

staffsvilla is what forums shoulkd be all about. Opposing fans with respect, opinions and always welcome.
Looking at yesterday though, if Garde stays then I'll be lumping on a second consecutive relegation. That Okore is the worst player I've seen in years.
