"Tip Tap Stuff" I hate that expression! It comes from the soul of a Pulis disciple. There is always a major point in passing the ball to your own players. When the opposition do not have the ball they cannot score! I agree with you that we all want to see a cutting edge to our team but Hughes is working on that I'm sure. For now I'll satisfy myself with 8th position with the hope that he will achieve greater in the near future. And all done with "Tip Tap Stuff" I'm very happy with our 8th place, but I went to be entertained - I even wondered if we would finally give someone a good thrashing (I know, we are Stoke!) I came home disillusioned with our 2-0 victory. "Disillusioned with a 2-0 victory"? It seems to me that you are watching a different game! Afellay's run and Shaqiri's passes that created the goals were incisive precise and worth every penny of the admission fee. Stoke have better players than we have had for many years. They are not going to win 6-0 every week maybe once a season if we're lucky. Get down to West Brom and ask their fans about entertainment!

Got the job done still believe he isn't the right man to lead us forward, although he is a very good manager and he's done fantastic to pull through that dire run of form. He's now turned it around and it's looking good, well done sparky, 7 out of 10

6.5
dire first half , good pep talk at half time and got a reaction but they tailed off again towards the end against the worst side in this league for a long long time

The opposition can't score if they don't have the ball, as you say. However, the team with the ball won't score either if they are just keeping possession a long way from the goal. And what's more, the result of this is a slow, boring spectacle. Football needs to involve taking some risks (watch how often our players pass the ball back rather than take responsibility) and trying to move forwards with purpose. Personally, I'd like to be entertained for my money, and that hasn't happened anywhere near enough this season. After watching Pulis football for too many years I know everything about "boring spectacles"! In order to achieve our present position we have to win matches and score goals and so far this season I have witnessed some terrific goals! It seems to me that your expectancy level for Stoke when they play sides in the bottom places in the league are too high. It is never a forgone conclusion in the Premiership! Stoke got the three points against Villa very comfortably and that is good enough for me! Villa passed the ball about in front of the Stoke defence and rarely were incisive. Butland had very little to do at all. Stoke scored two goals- job done! I am pleased that you were entertained by Saturday's performance. I'm afraid I was not. Though I admit that there was some improvement in the second half, for the most part we were slow and predictable. Until we had the penalty, I could not see where a goal was coming from. The tactic seems to be to wait and see if someone can produce a moment of individual skill. Our movement is almost non-existent. Maybe my expectations are high, but I thought that was what Hughes was brought in to fulfil. Your satisfaction with beating as poor a side as Villa 2-1 at home suggests that you are very easily pleased!

Job done only 6/10* for me because I would have preferred Joselu to Walters. Also, team came out very sluggish in the first half (part of his job is to get them fired up. They looked afraid to make a mistake); however apparent "rocket-up-the-arse"at half time appeared to do the trick and we had 30 good minutes until the subs came on, which killed the momentum. IMO he got the subs right but poor performances almost back fired.

I do not ever think that I have said that I was pleased with Saturday's performance but I do not think there was any need for complaint or booing at half time. It was very clear to see that we were totally in control with Butland a spectator. The football Stoke play should never be described as "tippy tappy"!

I came home disillusioned with our 2-0 victory. Did you leave on 75 minutes they scored you know? It wasn't a classic but I was still entertained, we're not the finished article and our final ball is frustratingly bad at times but some of our pass and move triangles are still very good to watch and when it clicks and we hopefully find that level of consistency who knows what we can achieve...... Whoops, sorry. Yes, 2-1 Glad you were entertained ... opinions eh!!

No, it wasn't tippy tappy on Saturday, though we have been sometimes. I'm not sure that a team can be described as in control at 0-0 at home against a poorer side. And I'd like to make it clear that I never boo my team.

7* Bringing on the 2 subs killed the game for us and handed the initiative back to them, but they were that poor they couldn't capitalise.
It took us the first half to wake up, but second half MH's team talk galvanised the team and when we scored the second the game should have been as good as won then.
As others have said, a win and 3 points but it wasn't a very exciting or entertaining game.
