Yup, no comparison right now - Afellay must start on that form, whilst Bojan seemed off the pace.

I think today has shown why Hughes has been starting Afellay over Bojan. We lost our control in the midfield once he went off. As much as people love Bojan (myself included) Afellay should be first on the team sheet for that number 10 role.

If Affers stayed on we would of scored 4.

Not happening yet for Bojan.
He's not exactly dwelling on the ball but often seems to close the gap to the defender with his first touch rather than make space.
It'll come by the time the Spring sunshine is here...

The answer is simple, leave Walters out for home matches or get whelan out and play affellay there and bojan with arnie and shak

Bojan looked lost when he came on. Struggled to get the ball under control. Afellay was superb again.

Agreed. Bojan is nowhere near what he once was. I can't remember seeing him do a single thing right.

I said many times Afellay is an attacking mid player. People saying all this nonsense "Nah mateee his legs have goneee" "He needs to play alongside Whelan" Hate to say I told you all again.

Bojans current run of form does not deserve a run in the side . Until he improves substantially then I'd keep Affelay in the team as we have done just recently . Dioulasso seems another one who can't command a definite place in the team .

Bojan just needs a full pre season behind him, he's been playing catch up since the start.
Next season the choice between a fully fit bojan and affelay could be a very nice problem to have.

When Ryans back id put Affelay in for Whelan. Our back 4 needs protecting at the moment.

Agreed - with Ryan back, there is less need for Whelan's shielding of the defence, so we could try Afellay and Imbula behind Bojan. Bojan needs to show some form and get up to speed first, as today he was back to his "little boy lost" routine.

SJW as lone striker is the key to the whole thing. It doesn't matter as much, which 3 play just behind him out of Arnie, Bodger, Ibby or Shaq. Thought Walters looked lost and totally void of any idea today March.....even in the second half when most of the others had upped their hand a little!!!

Was my man of the match today. You once again, talk arse gravy. I thought he was the second best player but we were slow and had no penetration. And that has to come from your attacking midfielder which in this case is Afellay. Today was awful and he was part of the problem.

When Ryans back id put Affelay in for Whelan. Our back 4 needs protecting at the moment. Our back 4 always needs protecting, even when Ryan's back. Any thoughts of having a, not particularly, defensive midfielder in there is nonsense, imo. And Affelay is undroppable at the minute.

Although I'd be tempted to give Ireland a go. We struggled to break down Villa. We have some big problems in the creativity department.
