Shame we sold one that would have fitted the bill, still we have Wolfy for the same price good business or not ? simple question yes or no. Good business yes At the time because he was struggling for fitness, Aint hindsight a brilliant thing to suit people's agenda and Wolly is a good defender and good age to build like so many players that we have, he was mom at Liverpool recently a ground we ain't won on since 1959 and that was after 120 mins of football. Credit where it's due. Like so mainly players lately, they are having a stinker and the loss of our captain is huge like it is for many clubs, if we had another Ryan type player should he be happy on the bench?? No of course not they all want to be playing simple reason Huth left to play football as Hughes at the time didn't fancy him. We move on. Hindsight my arse.

Brilliant response well done. Let's sack Mark Hughes then, mmmmmmhhhh Next How can it be hindsight when we knew about it ? why would we sack Hughes over it though just a few explanations would suffice, now if we were relegated because of the CB situation that may well be a different case scenario, that won't happen though will it ?

Hindsight in how Huth is doing now at his new club, who cares, great servant to us but he's moved on, would I have liked him to stay- yes BUT our new manger didn't and we went on to finish 10th then 9th without him or would we have won the league if had stayed with us?
It's getting stupid now init!
It's like if sir Stan wasn't dead he would be great cover on the wing or if Greenoff wasn't 60odd we would be European champions now if he hadn't aged ffs!
I give up.

Not hindsight it is a fact, and Huth is not dead nor is he 60 odd, like I said a few explanations would suffice selling him could not have been down to footballing reasons, also the reason we have not signed a decent CB in the last two windows but have signed 13 players.

Jesus wept man.
It probably wasn't BUT SO WHAT FFS grow a pair and move on.
I was at the Begovic charity night maybe nearly two years ago in the waddo suite when Huth was out 'injured' or back in training and every player including Hughes were gone by 10/10.30 but no later I was told but Huth was last to leave along with our table who are still club sponsors and know people at Stoke city and he was pissed as any of us get on a sat night, I think the night was on a Monday or Thursday night but it had gone past midnight and he wanted more drink. It was funny but professionalism I don't think so.
I ain't saying that was part of it but was he not following club rules on alcohol and times?
Was his attitude somehow being questioned I don't know, maybe?

That was summat I never wanted to say on here back at the time but now I had to because maybe there was other reasons not just footballing reasons or his fitness.
Huth to me and many more is a Stoke city legend and the one night I saw him like that was funny and surreal but I wonder if the club saw it like that.
Anyway sick of banging this Huth Drum.
Move on. He has!

Very interesting and would maybe explain why he was not selected even when he was obviously fit to play, after Saturday a few of the players attitudes need questioning, still does not explain the failure to sign a proper CB in the last two windows though.

I agree but Hughes and what he's already achieved with us deserves a nothing but respect not berating him and every decision WE think he's got wrong, I don't agree sometimes with him but we are all managers onna we and if it's all so so easy winning games and strolling into finals aint it then I should be a manager surely!
We have been one pen save away from a final.
We ain't doing to badly are we but the team and certain individuals do need a kick up the arse and Hughes will be doing that this week.
They are letting him down not just us,so Remember that but Hughes is the best man for the job here at Stoke and he's already proved he is.

..I like the fact that Huth scores 2-3 goals a season. A valuable haul for a CB. Indeed. Remember the days when we used to score off corners? (Although to be fair I don't think Huth leaving is the only reason that's stopped). I agree. I think someone has already pointed out it is only 1-2 per season anyway...which seems to be 1-2 more than we currently manage. All I remember was that warm feeling you get of anticipation..just knowing that a corner was a real opportunity for us to create something. Even if Huth didn't score you knew we would put ourselves about and make life uncomfortable for the opposition in their box. Who can forget his contribution to the free kick goal v West Ham in the FA Cup to make the gap for the shot. Quality. A Leicester City fan quoted on the BBC website a take on a Jack Nicholson film. "Huuuth? You can't handle the Huuuth!" Sums it up nicely I think.

For what it's worth I saw Robert Huth buying a tray of cakes from the Cake shop in Baddeley Green {true}, I'm also led to believe that he used to cycle to work. Hughes & co inherited a dressing room that were fucking up one another's cars and leaving pigs heads in lockers. On the pitch is only part of it. No use keep crying over spilt {man} milk.

On our table earlier in the evening was Charlie Adam and his wife and driver who left early anyway to drive back to Blackpool. Do you want to know what colour pants I was wearing? Huth ended up at the end of the night on our table because he knows the sponsors well and he even finished half a bottle of wine which was left on our table.
