Dancing.... Curious Swedish Disco courtesy of Ladomat, Whirlpool Productions. Great sing along vocals and a touch of The Andrea True Connection!
A bit scary to think it's twenty years old.

What are peoples thoughts on techno? I've got to say it's my fave. Closely followed by house (and garage) Cheeers for posting the So Angawa track, it's lovely, and has opened a new window. As for thoughts on techno. I'm not really sure what it is anymore: Underworld, Hyperion, Josh Wink, Cj Bolland, Sven Vath, Black Dog, Underground Resistance, Dreadzone, The Sandals, Wubble U ?... erm? Give us a pointer Mr. mee. Well there's quite a lot of techno that's for sure! I'm not hugely into all the categorising (minimal, industrial...), although it does make it easier to traverse. I love Underground Resistance... Jeff Mills and Robert Hood especially. Robert Hood as Floorplan especially - Paradise is a nice recent album. Jeff Mills, I like the big ones like The Bells. Been into a lot of UK techno at the moment. Livity Sound has a lot of good producers. Hodge and Kowton are two of my personal favourites (I won't do YouTube links cos I don't want to make the thread any more choppy if I can help it). Also the real heavy hitters... Stuff like: Clouds - Chained to a dead camel Randomer - Bring Rrose - Waterfall In terms of labels I'm a big fan of R&S Joey Beltram - Energy Flash is a classic MPIA3 (a project of Truss') is very acidy. I'd recommend checking out Ely and Acid Badger Lakker are pretty good. Plus loads more. I know I've gone a bit overboard but it really is my favourite type of music. This tune is one of my favourite techno tunes, always lifts me up: I'm sure from your post that you'll probably already know a fair few of the artists I've mentioned. Happy to post more but I'm loving discovering more house on here.

I love Underground Resistance... I'm sure from your post that you'll probably already know a fair few of the artists I've mentioned. Happy to post more but I'm loving discovering more house on here. Had a passing interest in 'techno' over the years, loved the UR stuff myself, but as 'techno' seemed to splinter and remixes etc came into vogue I lost touch with it all. Some artists like Luke Slater, even Leftfield, Weatherall {and his rotters golf club imprint} etc seemed to stray into more 'indie' territory, and then remix artists bringing more techno into Bjork, Radiohead etc it all became a bit blurred for me. Not a bad thing btw. And then the whole Drum & Bass and Electronica things muddied the waters further. Initially it was the dominant and rigid 4/4 to the floor beat which really demarcated it from other dance for me. {and that particular novelty wore off after a while.} I wasn't being facetious, it's just that {at least in my mind} Techno has come to cover a multitude of sins. From Happy Hardcore to beatless trance and all points in between. Think originally it was a catchy way of describing computer/synth generated music, but all music uses such technology these days, a vague adjective today. Perhaps it's worth resurrecting the 'Electronic Music' thread, some good stuff like trentmoller on that, yr right this thread is in danger of imploding under it's own weight. Good though. Have you heard any of the Noir Label releases? I really like the Christoph stuff {and the incongruous artwork of Noir.}

Yeah I'm talking 4/4, generally ~130bpm. A lot of people say it's very boring in that sense but I love the relentless pounding! A good example would be Blawan - Why they hide their bodies under my garage. Kind of no bones about it techno as I see it. I'll give the Noir releases a listen

I like techno, but don't really buy it. It's a genre I know the basics of, but I find it confusing to be honest. UR for instance. Is Knights of the Jaguar techno or deep house? Or is it really early progressive House?? I own the record by the way, so I guess I do own some techno. I guess I classify techno and techno dj's as playing a really high tempo, very repetive, wholly electronic sound. THat has a "drive" to it. I don't know what you guys think Is Planet E and Carl Craig techno? Right on theonlooker We need more vocals in the thread. I have a huge soulful house collection. I know cheeesfreeex isn't a huge fan of vocal house but glad you and mrmeeseeks are

This is a beaut, and perhaps just house enough to stay contained on this here thread. But what would I know? Dale Howard - Perspectives {Noir}.

I've enjoyed everything that has been posted up to be fair, vocal/soulful/deep/techno/twisted/dubby or otherwise. I'll be totally honest though, nearly all of my 'thing' is vocal, if you haven't twigged already!?!?
