That'll teach you to send Bojan to Francesco Group up Hanley for a testicle candling. And how does he repay me? BY SHAVING HIS FUCKING HAIR. I need to start putting my coc... foot down. Just make sure he doesn't get a "Saint" tattoo BM. That's a bridge too far.

Of all the tunes you've posted this comes closest for me DJ. Love the hypnotic rough and rumble. I'm not a big fan of the more soulful/song end of the House spectrum... I struggle with 'Dance' genres and sub genres. Techno, House etc... not sure mesen. There's the African female vocal harmonising sample in that Wolf Music tune, I think, which I'm struggling to source. Reminiscent of a bit of Fela Kuti. It'll either come to me, or not. But it's tweaked me aerials enough to do some digging re:Homework. Positive vibes anyway because it conjured up this..... Edit: It's happening... it's Eddie Gale ain't it? Thought I'd fallen over trying to dance to it before. Keep putting the needle on the record.

Missed the Dj Deep like that. Whatever happened to 16B and Rollo and Deep Dish etc? Your thread has re-started a few musical cogs, I've been trying to find {physically and on youtube} an album by K. Alexi? {with a puppet thing on the cover}. Early NY/Hip hop House hybrid, a bit like an early blueprint for Daft Punk. A bit like the 'M.A.D.' by Kurtis Mantronix. Anyway can't find it. Any clues?
Masters At Work. Global Communication, Herbert etc. Jedi Knights - 'One for M.A.W.'
Jumpers for goalposts.

Thought I'd fallen over trying to dance to it before. Keep putting the needle on the record. Fucking well done mate, good ear. THanks for that. Homework are cool mate, 2 blokes. Been collecting them for about 5 - 6 years now, I play them a lot, and are featured in my dj mixes that I put out. They make really good modern deep house records, and are good dj's as well. Similar to Detroit Swindle in a way, but they make stuff thats a bit quirky sometimes, like this: As far as genres go, I know it sounds complex, but it's pretty simple really. All House and Techno is basically a hybrid of Disco. THe term house is short for WAREHOUSE, a club in Chicago where Frankie Knuckles played disco records and looped the "instrumental drum breaks" on a reel to reel, live for the punters, in the 80s. He got the "groovy" part of the track to repeat, like how house is now . So the record shops started calling the types of Disco he played "House", and labeled the records that way in the record stores. The muic evolved and it's only classified into sub-genres for the record shops really, to arrange them by sound. And then the scenes developed and people chose different styles. etc etc. I say Deep House because its a very old term basically indicating it is not a commercial pop music dance sound. It's an underground sound and generally limited in release, usually released for DJ's and clubs, not the mainstream public. Techno is very repetive and faster in tempo. Very machine like, synth driven. Techy sounding, not organic. Elements of techno are in house and vice versa. Techno is from Detroit, influenced more by Kraftwerk and stuff like that. Tech-House is newer term and is a hybrid of techno and house. It's all 4 to the floor with the kick drum though. 4/4 ... Breakbeat and Jungle and Drum and Bass came out of the UK rave scene, and is more (which was influenced by the American house scene (previously disco). However the sound is waay different as the beats are not arranged the same way. They are breakbeats! I understand exactly what you mean regarding vocals etc. vs rhythmic/hypnotic stuff. I do play vocals, but not overboard, I like jackin beats and deep hypnotic stuff big time as well. You'd probably like my stuff. There are alot of classic tracks you should get into vocal wise though, it's the root of House music Why I am sharing them ! Just ask me if you are ever confused about something, I love this stuff!
