Disco biscuits: Crumbly like mature cheese. Straight off the plane from Amsterdam.
Doves: Original, pure. Straight from the source. No hand me downs.
Chang: Pure flake, and small rocky chunks. Uncut. Peruvian import via the long boat.
Billy: Harsh, nasty, and almost too powerful. Dutch I believe. From the ferry, straight to SoT. No detours, thank you.
Mix: Stella, Red Stripe, Jaeger, Absinthe.
Add: musik, girls in tight clothes dancing suggestively.

Old school Roger Sanchez vibes. Reminds me of early-nineties Saturday nights up North......Back II Basics, Hard Times, Love 2 Be. Sweet, shimmying Yorkshire lasses looking like dancing angels.....and then shattering the illusion once the music stopped and you heard 'em open their gobs.

I'm calling repost on that one and only because it's such a sweet bouncy tune. Great pickings.

Had some nice times starting in Headingley drifting into Leeds as it pushed the Twenty Four Hour City status. Cutting through the vibe a bit, I loved all that.. but it was this that really rocked me socks. All that Big Beat stuff tweaked me indie sensibilities and started to make sense.

Fucking LOVE STOKE WHAT A ROMANCE LADS The anticipation of the date. They give you a stiffy. Nearly break your heart. Almost cause a nervous breakdown. Then give you a blow job. All in the space of 90 minutes.

Back in the Motherland for a few days with family over Christmas, and just back from an underwhelming day out at Huddersfield with my lad. Happy not to lose, but pretty depressing stuff. Worlds away from the last time I went up to Huddersfield during the Macari era....was all just a bit blah.
Heading out to catch up with a few old faces at The Basement tonight, hoping to hear some good vibes but my god, Stoke is a bit depressing these days, innit? Perhaps it’s hazy memories and nostalgia playing tricks, but it’s all far grimmer than I remember it being even 10-15 years ago.

Perhaps it’s hazy memories and nostalgia playing tricks, but it’s all far grimmer than I remember it being even 10-15 years ago. My Aunty Bev last time I was over, remarking to her son and me: (this came about because i was asking around Hanley which bus went to Newchapel, around 10 pm, and people looked at me gobsmacked, i said its near Mow COp...anyway) "people are reluctant to leave Stoke Dunc, not many here have a world view," My Cuz Ian, her youngest: "What about Uncle Chester (my Dad), Uncle Ian, Uncle Colin, My OWN Brother, (he moved to Peterborough), And myself (he is RAF in Oxford) my Aunty: collecting the the dishes of biscuits etc "well I meant other people didnt I" as she huffed off, realising every single man she knows in her family outside her dad has left Stoke ---- To be fair Young Ian just bought a place near the grapes pub, kinda between newchapel and burslem -- massive VALE fan. His mum feels alone i guess. His older brother sells mint cars and lives posh in peterborough, as it were. Ironically was in vales youth team with robbie earle, went school together

Hey Dunc The Grapes is a big part of my growing up. Kent-Bagguley family. May have said before I had mates in Lordshire Place etc. Packmoor Youth Club, the park, Queenie newt pond, Mellor Street chippie, Dog & Partridge, Packmoor WMC and the outdoor at the Crown all loom large in the histogram. No new dance tooons to add at the mo. Ktf.
