Isn't it just brilliant !! Google 'Pressreader Stokelona' and you'll find the full article. If anyone on here speaks Spanish they could maybe translate it and give us a breakdown of what it says about us. That'd be very interesting.

First rule of fight club mate. If you read the sun, don't talk about it Incredibly millions of idiots read the shit contained in this paper, dedicated to make Cameron and his toffs appear as God's gift to this country (excuse me whilst I puke)! just because I read the Sun this weekend doesn't make me an idiot!!!! As I said I read it for its football coverage and because I went to the shop with little change, so there wasn't much choice. Would appreciate it if next time you a bit more diplomatic in your response and stop pidgoen holing people, for your info I didn't vote Cameron, not that politics has anything to do with it!

Heres a translation
Stoke City's Mark Hughes and Bojan Krkic shines with a philosophy of base blaugrana is a Christening. A very complicated ritual. He says the proverb of the Premier League that the real test for a footballer is to survive an afternoon of wind and rain at the Britannia Stadium. Stoke-on-Trent, forty minutes from Manchester, is a gray city, the typical industrial city in the North of England. A place of worship to the pub, where you mix minutes hours between pint and pint. A long walk gives the exception to a life of Interior by the channel, which always before night falls, which takes you direct to one of the most traditional stadiums and more made in Britain. The Temple of the city. Opened by the sides, vertical and intimidating, the Britannia has reached a mystical level. By its icy gusts of wind. By its humid afternoon, with rain of knives in the form of water. By its dedicated and highly demanding audience: pass the ball from midfielder should mean a clear chance of scoring. Until the arrival of the Welshman Mark Hughes, Stoke City was the paradigm of English football. A powerful team physically, lacking in technique, which based their play on balls to the area in the hope that the giant Peter Crouch eusebu them is as it could for mark.
Bojan Krkic is now the rudder of a template with a savoir faire of bib. After a voyage Barcelona post which took him to Rome, Milan and Amsterdam, Linyola seems that it has finally found its place in the world. In the most unexpected place. To the most unlikely opponent. As in a mirror, Manchester City saw Saturday in Bojan, Shaqiri, Afellay or Arnautovic that the citizen should be ambassadors. High pressure, speed in attack, class, intelligence and quality. And the British, always working with the word games, already have a nickname for Potters: Stokelona
Such football deployment engine is preceded by a grave disappointment. It was in 1986. Announced to great fanfare as a scorer of gold, Hughes signed for Barcelona led by Terry Venables. A fiasco was. "Seeing him with distance it was a missed opportunity. I did not understand what to do to be a successful there player", now coach at the beginning of season is confessed. "Although I regret, the experience helped me", later acknowledged. Barcelona was his school's disappointment, but also a valuable learning for the future. When the club became Marc Muniesa in 2013, Hughes understood the process of detachment that his new defense should happen. A phase of adaptation to English football coming also preceded by an entity of the magnitude of the Barcelona exit. "It is not easy to close the door on a dream you've had since childhood," was coach to Four Four Two magazine. The case of Bojan was even more complex, by the size of the player in his explosion and a nomadic life with a constant resonance to what it could be and was not in Can Barca.
process of this Stoke has been gradual. First Muniesa was key to show versatility in defense. Bojan then brought freshness and technical to the front. And the following signings have reaffirmed and refined an idea very of the farmhouse. Ibrahim Afellay and, above all, Xherdan Shaqiri have propelled an attractive idea of football. "First we had to make friends outside the field to translate our connection inside", explained the striker after the victory against the City. "We need time, accumulate minutes to better understand us".
The Potters receive praise for a brave idea. Putting a football of touch between gusts of wind, falling to a tier that thought never possible to witness a game with reminiscence blaugrana. The greatest fear is the irregularity, a direct consequence to the risk. Tenth in the Premier to four points in Europe, the next challenge is to raise the level of minimum. If Shaqiri continues to grow and Bojan directed the attack with the same wand, this Stokelona promises many evenings of Sun.

love this comment:
"do you know what was the most telling moment of the game against manchester city? There was a moment in the second half when Shaqiri, once again, cut through the Man City defence with a beautiful through ball to Bojan who was one on one against Joe Hart. But because of the wind, the ball picked up speed and ran away from Bojan but he continued to chase it and emphatically collided with Joe Hart, & Hart didn't touch the ball. Most players in the premier league would've dramatically gone down, pretending to be severely injured, whilst appealing for a penalty & a red card.
But what does Bojan do? He immediately picks himself up, embraces Joe Hart & actually apologises for raising his foot."

The Shit have just been on last, 0-0 and the highlights lasted 5 minutes??????? MOTD absolute fucking shit. Don't know why I ever bother. According to MOTD guidelines they are committed to showing 5 minutes minimum of each game. The maximum they are allowed to show is 10 minutes I believe. Another consideration is that like it or not, more people will tune in to see Man Utd than Stoke.
For now...

Just being on motd is a luxury. As a boy in the 90's I could only dream 1 day I'd see stoke on motd, now I'm living the dream. But in real life its so much better than a dream.

Fair play to Hart though - apart from a few questionable goalkeeping decisions on Sat, he came through with a good amount of his reputation intact.

So after much thought Sparky Hughes 'Dared' to unleash his SAS (Spanish, Austrian, Swiss) forward line and won more comfortably than the scoreline suggests. As the CARLSBERG adverts usually state 'Probably the best display of swift, slick, accurate and mesmerising football I've seen in 50 plus years of supporting Stoke" Uncle Peter Coates (is he not due some honour for his contribution just not to Stoke City but to Stoke on Trent?) must be extremely chuffed.

From Bluemoon forum:- First Half - swap Demi with Shawcross - and we would not have been so open. Out CH's are like soft cream centre. -

Very good, it actually reads like poetry..what a good read, with none of the usual lazy journalism. It tells the story of our renaissance very beautifully, but also with terror and darkness.

Anyone got a clip of Whelan going through Sterling like a dose of salts just before half time? The look on little Raheems face when Twatkinson waved 'play on' was a picture

Watching on telly in Shanghai. A fan of close on 40 years. I've never seen (or dreamt of) a Stoke team that can play like this. Go on Stoke! Ay up China. I lived Shanghai for 2 years, where abouts do you live, and where do u watch the mighty Stoke.
