It'll be interesting to see how seriously the stewards actually take it.
Personally I haven't got a problem with being searched if everyone is and it ensures that we are all safe whilst at any event I might be at.

Is this the death-knell for the hipflask Kingy?! I like the halftime snifter of brandy :-) Decant it into a clear container of less than 100 ml and put it in a zip fasten plastic bag. Jobs a goodun. Oh sorry I forgot that's airplane security and football ground security has to be far more stringent.

No problem at all with this (it ensures all our safety) as long as they don't use it as an excuse to confiscate things that would previously have been gotten away with (ie hipflasks), even though technically banned.
We played away at Reading a few years ago (2012 I think) and I cycled up from Basingstoke, locking my bike on the cycle racks outside the stadium, having removed pump, panniers etc. At the gate I was obviously a cyclist (I had helmet, lights, panniers etc with me) but the steward took offense to my bike pump because it could be used as a weapon - yes it could, but did he really think that I would bring all the other cycling stuff (& I was wearing cycling clothing) just to throw a bike pump across the stand - FFS

Sorry Benji, the gravity crocodile will have to stay outside for the duration of the match. Even if it's on a lead and its jaws are tied shut with a Stoke scarf? For Christ's sake, we've got to drop fifty-nine points from somewhere!

For Christ's sake, we've got to drop fifty-nine points from somewhere! We'll have to think of another way of sacrificing those points, perhaps we could reintroduce an old trend and start taking Gravity Pink Panthers.
