You've got to hand it to The Villa they really know how to piss us, their fans off It's only Wednesday and its shaping up to be the week from hell ! 1. Relegation 2. Flabby and lescotts antics 3. Up to 500 staff to be laid off 4. Two recently appointed board members resign citing differences with Lerner 5. Trinity Road upper to be closed next season to " improve the atmosphere" 6. Extra disabled seating platforms to be put in the asbo end I really worry about the future of The Villa and am increasingly becoming embarrassed that I joined in with all the anti Doug stuff, hindsight is a wonderful thing eh UTV I've said it before. Doug Ellis should have never sold to Lerner if he really cared about the Villa. Just my thoughts.

Including the playing side The Villa had about 1,600 on the books, like I've said before we are set up to be a top 6 club in every aspect, stadium, hospitality, training ground, marketing etc, but with one exception the most important one the team

F**k all to do with facilities then. I doubt if Stoke would've negotiated a wage rise on relegation! Stan doesn't say he got the pay rise because they got relegated Traore (or rather his agent) negotiated a contract with built in pay rise. Do you think they would have accepted a contract which said "we'll give you a pay rise unless we get relegated"?

What's past is past.
What's more to the point is there is an ex Barcelona player who's career has gone off the rails who maybe looking for a chance at a club to get his career back on track. I know just the manager and club.
It's now a question of priorities: money or ambition as a player.

I was born in Burton and never thought I would see the day the Albion would move from their little ground to a new stadium and play in the Championship against Derby. After Stoke I always looked for the Albion and Stafford Rangers results .I really hope Cloughy can take them up and then hopefully Stafford Rangers can also climb the leagues.

Seems like he could be a good player but obviously our 'suits' didn't think he was worth the money being mentioned.
Makes the feet stamping we had when he didn't chose us a bit, well, unsurprising and childish.

It appeared that we tracked Traore for a hell of a long time. Wonder if we'll consider a loan deal.
Hard to assess what he'd offer us next season though, appears to be lots of work required to get him up to speed.

Ray Wilkins was saying on the readio that he wasn't good enough for the championship and is a real problem for Villa as he is on 60k a week with no relegation clause , he said they had a better winger in the u-21s and wanted Lennon but the club signed him

A loan is the obvious solution If he's no good we send him back Improbable that Villa come straight back up so of he turns out to be up to muster then we buy him

According to Marcotti (who knows the player and his reps) on the Game Podcast on Monday said that the reason Traore chose Villa was down to the stadium and wanting to play in such a great arena. He said that Villa and Stoke offered exactly the same package but the stadium swung it. Time we filled in the corner Gabriele Marcotti is an Italian American who hates Stoke City with a passion. He is a parasite who should not be employed to comment on English football. He is a fat gobshite

I don't know how that compares with other clubs - it would be interesting to know. They made a loss of 4 million in 2014 which was about 50 million better than the year before.
