Doesn't matter who we have up front if we don't get the ball in the box. It's not exactly rocket science is it? I hope Hughesy sees this fundamental flaw in our game.

Maybe MH is very keen to retain Peter Crouch, who would be getting some game time but for a few enforced substitutions . He may have featured today if Ryan hadn't been sent off. Joselu will play on Tuesday imo Generally when Crouch came on last season we looked bloody awful and slow. I disagree with his contract extension for many reasons. Mostly pertinent to this thread.

Something must have happened surely when you consider Joselu led the line at Swansea and then he's nowhere to be seen for weeks after.Same with Ireland not being on the bench today and Van Ginkel replacing him l don't get it,Why?

I worry Hughes isn't as open to change in his side as he used to be. But maybe it's just because we've been winning.

We have a lot of players now, must be hard to pick the team really. Sidwell, Bardo, Ireland, Joselu. Lotta bread there...

Setup a goal, and then that touch on the move after the cross field pass from Geoff... Unlucky lad. Needs to feature more creative as hell...

I like him but he's an odd one. That one chance aside he didn't look a goal threat, preferring to link up play rather than spearhead attacks.

It might not be this year, but he will be an excellent striker for us.
His touch is crouch'esc.

I think he could be excellent as a number 10 playing off diouf, don't think it's likely we will see it mind.

For me he has to be ahead of Crouchy in the pecking order. He's younger and needs to be more involved. Crouchys a great guy and ambassador for the club but he's not the future.

If the link up play is there, like tonight I'd be tempted to give him more games as it allows the team to get higher as a unit. He's got a good touch, is happy to shoot, links well, just lacks pace....

I've come to this revelation as well after today. For me Crouch is our Aerial threat late on when we need a goal from set peices or defending them... He's not his young self anymore.

He looks to have a fantastic touch.
Thing is though, we were lacking pace tonight. If Joselu is going to play there he is always going to drop off and get involved in linking up play, so he needs a player to who is always looking to make runs to play just behind him. And he needs pacy players.

I though as a whole he was good, touch was up there with arnies.
However both him an Walters have a quality of not being in the box at the right times. Needs to get in the box.

Would be better than walters as the striker, link up play is excellent, bojan, arnie and shaqiri would get more openings with jos there than with walters. His sharpness will come, looks a little leaner than Swansea game. I like him.
