He is really struggling at the moment. Really struggling. I've long been of the opinion that he's our best player, returning from injury, and we play him every game for as long as he can manage. I would, however, be very very tempted to leave him out against Arsenal on Sunday. He simply isn't playing well enough, he's playing far too deep to influence things and he isn't doing anywhere near enough to influence games in the key area of the pitch that we need him. I wonder if he's actually packed on too much muscle as part of his recovery. He looks a tad heavy legged to me and less light on his feet than he was pre-injury. As we did last season, we just have to be patient with him. A crowd reaction second half, when he took a throw in, actually put him off as well. As the ball went back to him, he was receiving the ball whilst looking at the crowd to see what the panic or exasperated cries were. He certainly isn't at one with himself at the moment. I'd play him Sunday just because of the nightmares he gave them just over a year ago here in that peerless performance. They'll be worried about him that's for sure. Sunday could be the perfect game for him. Plenty of space, big stage etc.

His confidence looks completely shot and he's making poor decisions. A couple of weeks out of the firing line will do him no end of good.

Lack of a proper pre-season is catching up with him. Makes you wonder if Shaqiri's problems aren't down to that as well. And I think Ryan may be also suffering a bit for similar reasons. That is a very fair point. I'm not sure we truly appreciate the effects a lack of pre-season has on a professional player. Pro's and Ex pro's go on and on about the importance of it. It's obviously a massive factor, probably more so at this time of year with games coming thick and fast.

Suffering with tight hamstrings at the minute so I've read.

Whilst Shawcross's form has dipped, we still remain infintely better with him in the side than without, I'd get him out there on crutches if neccessary. Shaqiri the only change if he's fit.

The fact we had them on toast down our left hand side was the only positive in the first half.

Shawcross is still playing well mate. He lost a couple of headers tonight though just to show that he is a mere mortal afterall. Back on topic, how long can we persevere with Bojan playing as he is? I don't think he picked up one loose ball tonight. In my opinion, he's playing poorer currently than at any point last season when people were questioning whether he would ever adapt to Premier League football.

As has been mentioned I think the lack of pre season for several key players is taking its toll.
We had phases of really lovely stuff tonight but the lack of urgency in our play often made us look ponderous.
It's blatantly obvious that we aren't pinging the ball around as quickly as we have done and you have to guess there are some tired minds and bodies out there at the minute.

Not his electric best but decent enough. He at least spent 90 minutes trying to make things happen. When you play like that, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. He never stopped trying to make things happen and for a winger, that's good enough for me when you're not at your best.

The whole crowd is shit at the min
That air of arrogance and complacency stinks the place out, possession is grumbled at, mistakes are highlighted with gasps and derision, its all very negative and the players must pick up on it
I bet Bojan has never played so many big games (as all games are big here, not just the 7-8 in La Liga etc) in such a short span of time, after a bad injury
A lot of people need to get a grip, especially the dickhead in block 20 behind me who moans like a hooker for 90 mins every game whether we win or not.

With the benefit of hindsight perhaps the squad should have been more utilised during that period.

Bojan's a good footballer, we've all seen what he can do, that said it must be a frustrating time for him, he's always first to get subbed and whilst getting in some nice spaces, actually doesn't receive the ball. Makes it look like he's hiding. I thought he had one or two nice touches tonight and I'd still give him a run on Sunday but in his current form, his name should not be first on the team sheet. Dare I say that perhaps Bojan has a great game every now and again and a few lovely touches in all the others.

Bojan is a brilliant footballer who is experiencing a dip in form after a tough few weeks of matches following a return from serious injury! Some of the moaning minnies need to give it a rest. He may need a bit of careful managing and some rest to get the "oomph" back in his play again, I grant you, but I am sure that there is more magic to come from those boots before the season's end.

Bojan's had a couple of games where he hasn't been as brilliant as normal and suddenly we want him dropped? The man is a star. And one of those games was the League Cup where frankly the whole team was so dire that no one player could have risen above it. Leave Bojan alone, he's a great player and he's done stunningly well, coming back as he has from that injury.
His problem is, he's set his standards so high and we expect so much from him, that when he has just an ok game we suddenly think he's shite! Not the case, at all.

I still feel that we've over played him since his injury. Yesterday was a good opportunity to rest him for Sunday.
We know what he's capable of. However he's not had the intensive pre season the others have had.
If he plays Sunday, he needs to be rested for the next game, which is Leicester away.
