(Big IF and unlikely).
Fucking hell imagine this messageboard if that happened. All hell would break loose. I can see the team now Butland Cameron - Wollscheid - Wilson - Pieters Diouf - Sidwell - Whelan - Adam Walters Crouch Incredible pace, The meltdown would be borderline Chernobyl level
If tone came back it would look a lot more like this Given Bards Shawcross Scott dann Wilson Walters Whelan Cameron Adam Crouch for the flick ons Diouf In fact if we still had tone we would class that as a good attacking side under his dictatorship ????

And yet not a single person on the entire thread has actually said that or anything like it. Could it be that hardly anybody actually reads anything beyond the thread titles, and half the time they don't even read them properly. Twitter generation I guess. In fairness, why title your thread "A surprise Champions League Qualifier?" And then say "It's still a big ask for anyone outside the usual big 4 - Plus two more clubs after them - to make the Champions League"....... "But could we see an outsider sneak into the European Places?" Why not just title the thread "A surprise European contender?" (Although seeing as you then mention players who've signed for clubs like Swansea, West Ham & Stoke, who've played in Europe recently, would any of them be a surprise?) Because that's the question I wanted to emphasise, amidst a general discussion about the prospects of European qualification for smaller clubs. I could have switched it round and called the thread "A Surprise European Contender?" and then asked the CL question as part of the thread but can't see for the life of me what difference it really makes. I don't think that it's possible yet (CL Qualification for a club outside the usual suspects) but was interested whether anyone else thought it was. It surely isn't that confusing?

ithink as of now swansea are as good if not better than liverpool and spurs, i think it may be a hard ask to finish in front of man utd but if all their main players stay fit i think they've got an outside chance so i have had a small bet at 20/1 for the top 4 and a good bet at 3/1 for the top six

From what we've seen so far the gap between the big 4 and the rest seems to have narrowed. Clubs like Swansea, Palace and West Ham have already won games that in previous years would have probably ended in defeats to the usual suspects. I think we're another team who are perfectly capable of pulling off a few surprise results. It's still a big ask for anyone outside the usual big 4, plus Liverpool and Tottenham, to qualify for The Champions League, but with some of the players that the mid-table clubs have added thanks to the extra TV money- Ayew, Payet, Cabaye and of course Shaqiri- could we see a real outsider actually sneak into the European places? I reckon one of them might get 6th this season, possibly at Tottenham's expense, which would still be a fair achievement. Can't see it being us but you can dream can't you... Doubt it, early season form is notoriously unreliable. It will be the usual suspects at the end though I'd really like it if it wasn't.

It would only confuse someone with the attention span of a Goldfish who couldn't read the whole post before deciding what to think about it. I'd love any team to break the grip of the big clubs, I dream of it being us but just don't see it happening. Finance has become everything in football, the new TV deal locks that in for a few more years at least. Can't see a leveler playing field or more open competition without an implosion in football finances.

Its horrible to look at though though without Arni, Bojan and Shaqiri

Although we have spent 21 mil this summer and revived 15mil in return so in that respect a low spend but we still look very good. Plus we all know if it's gone tits up by January we do have the power to spend if it was required

Man Utd won't finish top 4. A strike force of Rooney, Depay, Martial and er, Fellaini is not good enough. A central defence of Jones, Smalling, Rojo and er, Blind is not good enough.
Swansea could take 4th. That Garry Monk is hugely impressive (although annoyingly, he seems to know it). Like, best English manager of his generation impressive.

We won't be anyway. I don't understand the knicker wetters like benjaminbiscuit who think we will be. Of course, if we were to be at that position, totally buggered, Coates won't want us to go down. The club means too much to him. The transfer Wang would be thrown about left, right and center. But it'll never get to that so Top 10 here we come

There is still 102 points to play for and 2 cups to do well in. Anyone would think its April and were bottom by 20 points. The mind boggles with some on here but it is only a select few who post religiously to get there propaganda out and about
