Real Madrid could be hit with a transfer ban in 2016, meaning if they don't sign De Gea now, they cannot sign him until 2017.

Can't see why it's good news. Anyone that's any good I want out of Utd, and in my view, he's very good!

Why did they leave it until this late any way. FFS this has been known about since the last kick of last season and why didn't Man Utd get it done once they had signed his replacement to get De Gea off the wage bill. Fucking stupid doesn't come close IMO.

I hope all the agents involved had already spent their cut.

haha nice quote from Di Maria, basically confirms what everyone suspected about Pug Face van Gaal
In an interview with French newspaper L’Equipe today he has accused Louis van Gaal of having “no philosophy”, which makes it “difficult to adapt to his system.”
“Everyone does what he wants,” Di Maria said. “I started very well with him, and then we had some clashes.
“Things did not go well and I was changed position. It is the coach who decided that, and in the end I found myself on the bench."

You want to hope De Gea rediscovers a love for Manchester. If Butland continues in the form he's shown so far this season he could well be uniteds next target.

My first thought on this was that Real did this on purpose. I still think the same. Good news all round though. My thoughts too. Real Madrid are fairly confident that he wants to join them. All they had to do was scupper the deal with no time for United to do anything else about it. They will now get him for nothing next year instead of for £22m this year. I think I would be getting some lawyers out if I were ManU.

De Gea is desperate to be the number one for Spain at the Euros. He wont do that sitting in the stands.

With today's mercenary players and agents then I'm sure a nice £10m or more signing on fee will more than make up for missing the Euros next year.

Fucking stupid doesn't come close IMO. Madrid are just playing the game gents. Prolong the negotiations, deal falls through, pass the blame onto United. They then get De Gea for free in the Summer (saving £29 million!)

True, but usually the mercenary tag only applies to the nearly made its. De Gea is/soon will be the best keeper in the world. He doesnt need to angle for better clubs or more money. Plus, 29m is nothing to Madrid.
