It doesn't matter that he was never ours, it's one of the reasons I'm not a fan of loans because it just leaves you in the same position a year down the line. He was a big part of our squad and team and we are indeed missing him. And we still need to replace him. Not being ours doesn't matter one bit. But he only played 17 times and didn't finish a few of those games. After a good start he faded like he has done consistently in his career I thought he was our best attacker last year.....

I don't think Bayern is talking about losing HIM specifically but rather about losing a player with pace, who plays on the left and who can make a similar contribution as Moses did last season, this season. We've lost that TYPE of player.

Afellay looks to me like he is more suited to the No10 role rather than a wide man. Up against Gardner on saturday he was outmuscled and wound up. Doesn't have the pace or strength to work his way past PL full backs even shite ones like Gardner. So another No 10 and lord knows why we have so many that can play in that position. Makes the squad look very unbalanced and you have to question what our transfer strategy has been this summer other than seemingly keeping within a £5-10m net spend.

We needed a striker and we got one, I don't see how it's a luxury. We have Crouch, Walters and Odemwingie on the books already We have Whelan as our only defensive central midfielder It's all about priorities when we clearly don't want to spend much Waters isn't a striker unless desperate, Odem looks spent, and Crouch is okay back up but we still needed someone.

Those mentioning Asmir's departure are forgetting that Jack was ready to come in and has so far been outstanding. Right now, he's the signing of the summer... If you get me.
Jury out on Johnson for me. Shaqiri looked good, if just a bit unfit. That'll come with time and minutes. I would have been tempted keep him on with a two week break mind.
