he will cum good needs time to get use to it like diouf did Fingers crossed you are right, what concerns me is his lack of pace over 5 yards plus his touch is not that good(trying to be fair).

Scoring a penalty should have helped his confidence. Needs a bit of time just like Diouf, Bojan etc

He may turn out to be a disappointment, but three weeks into the season after a shit performance from everyone, is not the time to judge a single individual, particularly a new recruit. You have to think of the Luton game as a preseason match where it's all about the game-time for some of the players, not least Joselu. I agree to a certain extent but that's ok to say when we've got through by the skin of our teeth. But we all want a trophy ideally some time over the next few years and Mark Hughes would have been as angry as anyone to see us go out in that fashion if we had. He put out a team more than good enough on paper to win that game but Cup matches away to the lower league clubs aren't easy everytime, (even less of the time for Stoke).

How long as he played for the first team? Has he played for an hour yet? Nothing like a good old Oatcake knee-jerk reaction.

To be fair the OP gave us this gem as well though not so long ago. "i think peter has decided he made the wrong choice in hughes so thats why no big signings because if and when we go down we are not shackled with hughes had beans"
The bloke is a fucking genius

Look's a bit like Diouf did in his first few games, Not much confidence, Poor composure and lack of understanding of others. I've seen enough to think he will come good though

I seriously don't think anyone came out of that game with any credit at all, maybe Cameron because when he came on he looked really determined to get us through but even he was getting caught and wasn't his usual self. Couldn't believe the team I was watching was Stoke until I remembered we are absolutely useless against sides we are favourites against. I pointed out last night that every single one of the back 6 in front of Given were poor for their goal in their own ways (which I can happily explain but this post is long enough lol) which just cannot happen with 5 minutes to go in a cup game against League 2 opposition, albeit Luton were decent and worked their arses off.

Some people come in from abroad and think the English lower league teams will doff their caps and bend over. All in all a useful lesson for him. Gives him an idea of what's needed if he's going to do more than buy a nice house in Cheshire or whatever.

Have to say he does look expensive when compared to the £2 million Swansea paid for Michu.

Bodger was awful when he first came into the team last season. He looked like a little lad lost and was swatted off the ball by opponents.
We fed him up and gave him a couple of months to acclimatise and he became one of the best players in England.
Let's give our new signings the same treatment. I think Afellay and Joselu could be gems who need a little polishing.
