Moses looking promising but loan deal not done yet. We're also in a tug of war for Hernandez (little pea) with Leverkusen. Lennon was also in the mix, as is Adebayor but think this is more noise to force the other deals through and wind Levy up. Jelavic is also looking likely and expect Jarvis, Amalfitano to leave before window shuts. Before anyone wonders why we're in for so many front players - we only have Sakho (who's got some issues) and Elliot Lee and yesterday had 5 teenagers on the bench - two of which came on. Valancia, Carroll, Zarate all injured. Song is back in London and will also join if passes 2nd medical following surgery for floating bone apparently - he's basically a big risk for the money but still hope we get him. Seems like you've spent a fortune hammered. How many new players you got in now and how many squad players have you got you must be looking at having to shed a few?

Leicester Too , Bournemouth look well set too and it leaves a little league below them that we would need to top to remove any fear

Would much have preferred him to shaq proven knew the leagie and the setup
I'd have broken the bank to sign him in May and nzonzi and then added two first team players using the palace or Swansea model nzonzi could have stayed a year or take 70k a week now with a huge exit clause Keep the best and build slowly instead we are building a whole new engine room and strike force in the most unforgiving league in the world with players at the core of these changes who have never played in this league .

Did you know that Swansea's team today cost less than 23m to assemble. Their only goalscorers this season cost the combined transfer outlay of £0 and neither had played in this country prior to Swansea signing them. Your points have more holes in them than the fucking titanic. Edit - Swansea didn't keep their best players either. They sold them and replaced them with players who cost only a fraction of what they received when selling their most saleable assets.

Outs and wage saving 12 players - Downing £6m, Maiga £6m (reported) + Demel, Nolan, Song, Morrison, Nene, Cole, Jussi, Vaz Te, Lletget, Potts Net spend approx before tomorrow = £16m. Pretty modest in PL terms and still a few places left in our 25 as we’ve at least 3 potential first teamers under 21.

Net spend, not selling your best players, signing players with premier league experience...all things that Swansea haven't done.

jonno
They have sold one player for too top dollar when they had 40 points in the bag and retained the spine of the team and built on if .
We have gone for mad pace of change banked on three injured lawyers returning and signed high risk low cost option. Or a loan .
Regardless I've said since day 1 out strategy this window has Been awful and tales of next level investment Without substance i hope I'm proved wrong in a flurry of points I just can't see it

The good thing I like is that if you see a problem you do try and solve it. Whether it's an injury or there just not being enough quality. I don't think we should give up actively chasing like we appear to have done if there's room for improvement which is definitely the case in CB, DM and out wide.

I know they are in London and its nice and convenient for him, but I still think it's a strange move considering he didn't want to come back to Stoke to fight for his place at Chelsea...
Oh well, West Hams medical team will be kept busy!

I fear West Ham are going to kick some arse this season.
They already turned over Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates and Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield.
I am not sure Moses will be a starter straight away although I guess he will bat himself in and get some game time as the season wears on.

Kouyate is a beast in fantasy and they have some great seniors. Should do well. I have them in the top ten above Spurs I think.

Yes, losing in Europe will help too, I can see them top 10 for sure and potentially top 8 at a squeak. And 2 draws and 2 defeats is no bad thing, not much point in mucking about with draws since they brought in 3 points for a win all those years ago. A draw a game went from mid table form to relegation form at the swipe of a pen. All games are equal but some more equal than others these days !

Would be interesting to know is Moses' reported reluctance to move to Stoke was purely because he was getting positive noises from Mourinho about his Chelsea future, or whether he just prefers London.
Would also be interesting to know what Hughes might be thinking now, if he had his time over again and had a straight loan choice between Moses and Van Ginkel...
Wonder if we've made a sneaky bid recently?
Moses was clearly useful to Chelsea in their pursuit of Stones though (not useful enough it seems!), it was always going to be a last minute deal for him.

Let me get this straight. The fact that they beat Liverpool and Arsenal means they're going to be brilliant, the fact they lost to Leicester and Bournemouth means nothing? How do you work that one out? You've got to stop thinking everyone else is brilliant and we're rubbish, you're worse than my dad!
