More of a shame for us! A great big, fooking mahoosive shame for everyone connected to Stoke City. And it all centres around bastard Rochdale, what a horrible night that was. I didn't want either of him or Bojan to start.

I thought it was or maybe earlier. I just remember whinging that he shouldn't be risked! EDIT-he didn't play in the Leicester game before Rochdale so was it in training? Then he aggravated it vs QPR?

John Souttar is the new Shawcross. Us and Everton have been tracking him but I think they'll move for him if Stones goes to Chelsea

It's a good shout. We need someone else at centre back. I think wollschied will come good but with Ryan having a persistent problem with his back of late, it's risky not having a little more cover in that area. Muni and Geoff do well but if anyone gets injured on the wings, we are short.

Absolutely pony. Only rated by some because he's English and scored a few from corners. His positional sense, as shown so often at Cardiff and QPR - is non existent. Not much better than Wilson at CB

when he left Spurs I was a little surprised that they let him go especially because he had made the england squad , but then when you realise that woy picks any english young player with a fashionable club who makes a bit of a name for themselves you realise he may not be worth getting too exited about and his form at Cardiff and QPR has shown him up , he will be at his level if he stays where he is

www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfer-news-live-manchester-united-6144826QPR considering Caulker loan
QPR are willing to loan out Steven Caulker with view to a permanent move away from Loftus Road.
West Brom, Southampton and Stoke are all keen on the former Spurs centre-back, but none are willing to meet the Hoops' £8million asking price.
However, the Championship club will now let the defender move on loan in a bid to offload him.I can't really see it, as underwhelmed as I am by our CB options, unless there are absolutely massive, massive question marks about Shawcross behind the scenes, and that's something we just don't know. Also, you've got the issue that he's been garbage apart from his honeymoon period at Spurs.

If we're fishing for relegated centre backs it'd be Harry Maguire from Hull for me. But I'm presuming we're done shopping for defenders for now.

To be fair, I've just remembered the season he had at Swansea where he was flavour of the month. No idea if he was actually performing week-in, week-out, but the London press were certainly all over him like a cheap suit.

Cameron has already shown he can do a fine job as right sided centre back, and Wollscheid naturally plays there too. We don't need any more CBs. We do need another natural CB. Whether Caulker is the answer or not is a different question. I'd take him above Cameron at CB every day of the week and at the minute above Wolsheid too.

Swap deal involving wollscheid? I'd swap him for a half eaten Mars bars that my dog has chewed and then had a dump on.

Yeah but I think they want £10mill or so for him and Southampton are sniffing. I was impressed with Maguire when I saw him play for Sheff Utd a few times. He looked mature, physically and footballing wise for his tender years. I thought he was a presence and a prospect, but doesn't seem to have made any sustained impression under Brucie. Been marginalised to accommodate a back five apparently. He's a player I'd like to see do well.

I just dont get this idea that we should in for a centre back.
As it stands, we have no squad places free, so even if we wanted to bring in cover, it means somone has to go?
CM and another wide man are surely a priority over cover for a possible injury?

Ok but Wollscheid is here to stay whether we like it or not and Cameron recently signed a new contract. Just because many don't rate them, doesn't mean we can just leave them out of the squad. Bardsley is about the only dispensible player at the back and I dont see him shifting either. At present, we have 2 players for each position.

Not sure why texiera is at the club he seems very surplus to requirements at the moment , he didn't even feature last season when all our centre backs were injured , if he isn't seen as a viable option he shouldn't be in our squad

Even for someone nowhere near our starting 11, he will be on considerable wages for his ability. League 1 and League 2 would perhaps struggle to even hit them.

Personally I don't think he's good enough, he got over hyped because he scored a few goals, not for me.
