Still love the boys are back in town myself We had this in the days of League 1 / the championship early doors if I remember rightly as the players came onto the pitch? A strang alien counting down from 10 to 1 and then "this is only the beginning" this then kicked in! Used to love that countdown when I was a kid. Can't wait take my lad down to see a side to be proud of. This all seemed impossibly far away back then.

If you think that Owd Bill Smith , Norman Challinor and my good self would get involved in that then you must come from a different continent .!

Still love the boys are back in town myself I still love it to but most of all I really miss it. When I here it on the radio it always reminds me of the mighty potters. As they walk out of the tunnel the boys really are back in town. BRING IT BACK I say .

Guns n Roses - Welcome to the jungle.
As the intro kicks in the atmosphere within the stadium changes, the crowd sense their heroes are near, the idle banter and chit chat subsides, the tension rises as the Stokies sense that battle is near. For the next ninety minutes the team is at war, it's their team and they will play their part too, baying from the terraces, urging their heroes on to victory.
In the tunnel the red and white warriors line up, they hear the opening music, they hear their army beyond, they know they are about to enter the arena backed by thousands of their own. They smile inwardly, this will be their day, they will give their all for the shirt, they will repay their army, they will take no prisoners. Today the game is theirs.
Outside, on the terraces, a handful of brave souls who have left the safety of their homes to travel to Stoke to support their team, stand in awe at the scene and noise before them. Only hours before they laughed and joked as they swilled their ale, fuelled by tales of bravado and previous exploits, now they are silent, now their bravery has fled them and they stand alone in a cauldron of noise.
The tension rises as the intro goes on, Stoke players growing in stature, eager to get to battle, to destroy their opponents lined up beside them, opponents who do not relish this day, opponents who do not like this envoironment they are forced to endure and opponents who's heads already hang low, already crushed by the weight of the task ahead.
As the two sides are led out into the arena the opening lines of the song blaring out are clearly heard...
'Welcome to the jungle, we've got fun and games... '
The visitors today take a worried glance at each other and shake their heads 'what the hell is this place ? '
Today they will find out. Today they experience the Bearpit. Today, for them at least, will be misery.

Just searched 'Stoked up' on Youtube and this turned up..
Not my kind of music but I can imagine it being quite atmospheric as the teams line up in the tunnel.

Something heavy and angry. No one wants to go into 3pm feeling happy and singy. You want to be baying for blood.

Alternatively as the intro kicks in there is a mad scramble to have a quick piss before a mad push from the concourse just as the ball is placed onto the centre by the ref. As the game kicks off thousands of stokies are still making their way to their seats muttering 'soz mate' to fellow warriors

Have to agree that the intro to Welcome to the jungle would drum up some goood atmosphere before the players come out. When the players are all out on the pitch play Witness the fitness by Roots Manovue and get the place pumping.
