There is another thread on this
Maybe he would go out on loan (aka Jacks situation) and we get another gk, an experienced player to be a back up for Jack - assuming Bego will move on

Judging by Claus' opinion on him and the fact he can't hold down a place for a Danish club, I'm guessing this kiddie certainly hasn't got the credentials to be a back-up in the Premier, so you'd think we're still looking for a main keeper to back-up Butland and sit on the bench?
Sounds like a punt for a potential cheap 3rd choice, with the likelihood that Bachmann will be loaned out to gain experience? If that's the case, seems a pretty thankless task for this kiddie, but could be money for old rope if he never plays

At the age of 23 can he be considered a kiddie

At the age of 23 can he be considered a kiddie In keeper terms maybe? He on;y seems to have played 30-odd games in Denmark. Bit surprising to see us go down this route for 3rd choice -thought there might be a veteran available to take on the frustrating but well-rewarded Carlo Nash duties.

twitter.com/MichaelQureshiA Danish reporter has a few interesting things to say: Cheap backup with potential who won't complain about the reserve role. They have asked Thomas S for advice He has the potential, and so he comes to learn a whole new style of play and train at higher level Yes. He wouldnt go there for a number three spotSuggests number 2? EDIT: He also says this: Jakob Haugaard can undergo medical check in Stoke as early as this week. The plan is that he will be back up for Jack Butland. Begovic to be away.

What happens if Butland breaks his leg on the opening day of the season?

Sounds like he impressed in the first half of the season but then his club replaced him with a more experienced keeper. I guess one thing to cling onto is that Sorensen may have recommended him.

What happens if Butland breaks his leg on the opening day of the season? (The opening day of the season is still in the transfer window and I'm guessing we will have done most of our transfer business before that but we could still buy) The point is a very valid one, Sorensen would have been able to step in for these last 2 games and the team would be confident with him in goal. My choice would be to take the relatively small risk, buy the Dane, get him out on loan to a Championship Club and see if we can attract an experienced but capable older GK who could be no 2 and continue to support Jacks development if / when Asmir moves on

I was really expecting an experienced keeper/coach to come in this summer, if Bego leaves we're left with a highly inexperienced crop of keepers.
Hughes has worked with Schwarzer, Green and Given and it wouldn't have surprised me to see any of these come in to provide meaningful competition for Butland, and guide him through tricky periods with their Premier League experience.

To be honest, if Asmir was leaving, I'm certain we'd sign another keeper too. Bachmann would definitely need to be loaned out again; there's no point of him staying here as 3rd choice and not getting any games.

I think at 23 years old this is definitely a sign Asmir is a goner, this isn't like signing some random 16 year old

Sounds like Goodbye begovic, Up the pecking order for Butland, this new lad fill Butland's previous role. Is sorenson leaving?
I'd suggest Butland will be number 1 next season and we will be looking for anew number 2 aswell as this lad

(very curious signing though) Jacob Haugaard From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jacob Haugaard Daniel Jacob Haugaard[2] (born 12 May 1952 in Tvøroyri, Faroe Islands) is a Danish-Faroese comedian, actor, musician, composer, writer, TV host and politician.[3]

Marshall from Cardiff please

Hmm very peculiar although given what Hughes has delivered so far I'm not going to second guess him but the lad doesn't seem to have many fans.

Any decent free agents? Not sure who the free options would be mate but considering it's a big role to fill, we should if we need to cough up the cash on a solid back up/ compitition for Butland. Marshall from Cardiff would be a good bet, then the likes of Craig Gordon at Celtic and a few others could do a job that shouldn't costthe earth

Or it could be we are just getting a Dane for Dane signing - this guy can be no.3? No real reason why the 3rd choice has to have vast experience, although this is a risk. Massive net saving in wages one would assume, to free up money for other areas...
If Bego goes we will get someone more high profile surely.
