Who are you voting for?
Labour are favourites to win in Stoke General and Local. UKIP are 2nd favourites according to the bookies.

Think of the bigger picture, we don't want the country ending up like Greece.

Well if the Conservatives are struggling to get the debt down. It would be an absolute train wreck if Labour were in charge of the cheque book. Maybe the UK would be getting a bail out next.

Quite simple old fella. Conservatives are still borrowing every year, but in my opinion, borrowing less than the financially irresponsible labour would have done. Can't remember if I said it on here before, bit from mid 90's to mid 00's the economy was booming and we could quite easily have saved some money for the inevitable economic down turn but Blair choose to spend that money on thongs like tax credits and worry about the lack of any savings later. Typical short termism unfortunately.

They are gaining credit from the misguided for improving our economy when they are not, which begs the question where has the money gone. To me they are just better at lying than Labour.

They are gaining credit from the misguided for improving our economy when they are not, which begs the question where has the money gone. To me they are just better at lying than Labour. They inherited a country that was losing 100 billion a year and therefore increasing the credit card debt by that amount. We are now losing 50 billion a year. We are no where near repaying the debt - to do that we must first stop making losses first, then we can start repaying our huge debt. In my opinion if Labour had stayed in power in the last election we'd be so far up the creek that we'd be like Greece. Conservatives are a long way from finishing the job, but at least we are sailing in the right direction. The need to be elected basically prevents them doing it, but some severe benefits cuts (eg no one can have any more benefits once they are receiving above the national average wage (supposedly around 25k) and a harsher approach to tax evasion could also be taken. These 2 measures would deal with much of the financial mess they inherited.
