I didnt know this part was here , but what better and lasting way to leave a memory of the MAN that put Stoke City in my heart . He took me my first game about 1968 or 1969 against WBA, it cost half a crown for me to get in and 5 bob for him at the Old Stoke End (12 and half pence and 25 pence in new money to you youngsters lol ) , the next match was a boring draw against Halifax in the Cup when it did nothing but rain , we even got home before the results came up on Grandstand lol . He was a regular following during the 50,s 60,s and 70,s and only stopped going after he got pelted with coins at Anfield in the seats next to the Kop just after Banksies last match there . I remember him saying to me after that match , enough is enough son , I,ve watched Stoke and even stood on that end with them and then the new breed throw coins and spit at you . The last game he saw Stoke live, was by coincedence against WBA, we couldnt get tickets for the Boothen , so had to sit in the Stoke End seats , My dad passed away July of last year , but at least now I can leave a little message to his first loved family .....RIP John Finneron , gone but never ever forgotten DAD , save me a front row seat up there by the tele eh x x

Cherish the memories mate. Believe me, they become even better, despite the heartache. You will have days when you get a Stoke flashback involving him and smile.
All the best.
