According to the Leicester fans he's been the stand out player, since he's joined on loan.
Obviously match fit, but a star player in a team destined for relegation, where does his future lie?
For me, when fit, he's one of the best defenders we have.
But with Muni and Wooly doing so well, and Shawcross the first on the team sheet, a decision will have to be made.
He's as good as Ryan. If Ryan had suffered a similar injury and spent so much time out, would we be so openly discussing selling him in the summer?
Seems silly to sell such an asset, but with Wolly and Muni being so young, we may be in the rare position where we have to sell a player who is easily good enough for the first team, but may have to, because of having to do whats right for the player.
Horrible situation.

He's not as good as Ryan, who is a much more complete player.
Huth often struggled with agile, nippy forwards looking to turn him.
He's a still a great defender mind, it's an awkward one and really shows the depth of our squad.

Huth is a Stokie.
That is all.

I think he's responsible for much of Ryan's development, and wouldn't be the player he is without his guidance. Ryan sometimes struggles with the issues that you've raised, as many do. Muni lacks awareness, Wooly suffers with his pace, all having shared weaknesses. 5 million in today's market? Surely it would be irresponsible to sell such an asset?

Huth is an absolute tank and he defends really well. He struggles with our passing game though but I still see him with a future at stoke

Well whatever happens I trust Hughes' judgement and love Robert Huth. Neither of those opinions are going to change anytime soon

No future here...........sadly. I thought that to myself watching Cameron steam forward and create an attack that led to a chance. Sadly I think Hughes rates that more than an ability to defend I presume. I think it would be insane to sell Huth personally. Highest premier league scoring defender not long ago, and still the highest scoring stoke defender in history!

What to do? First I'd consider the fact that Robert Huth is miles better than Philipp Wollscheid and take it from there.

Have to trust Hughes on this one.
I hope we keep Huth as he has proved himself to be a top class premiership defender and a true Stokie; however Hughes has brought in players to partner Ryan who have shown great potential and have done really good jobs so far, so it would be reasonable to believe we will be open to offers for the massive german youth.
I imagine a bid of £4M would see Huth packing his boots for pastures new.

Perhaps Huth looks better in a 5 man defense. Makes his lack of mobility less obvious when there is more cover.
Great defender don't get me wrong, but with a history of knee troubles and getting no younger, I can't see a future for him here.

Just catching up with Match of the Day from the weekend.
Huth looked very "rusty" to be fair. He'd normally smash it clear when he presented it to Kane on a plate.

He'll still be in the league next season, but I doubt it'll be with us. He needs regular game time and if Shawcross and Muniesa remain fit - and Wollscheid signs - he won't be getting that.

Wollschied is a better "footballer" and that's why Hughes brought him in. But Shawcross/Muniesa would be my CB pairing anyway.

All about his fitness. If he is fit, straight in the side. Muniesa at left back. Micah Richards at right back.
Looks good to me.

In a back three featuring Matthew Upson and Wes Morgan I'd be disappointed if I wasn't the stand out player.

Then he will look to move him on. Not convinced Hughes doesn't rate him. He played him till he got injured. If he saw no value in Huth he would have sold him already. But he may well want a better passer sure.

But Shawcross/Muniesa would be my CB pairing anyway. he may well be, but he also has a turning circle like the ark royal, and my 76 yr old mother could strip him for pace....i think either of them are destined to be back up should they be here nxt season, i like you think its muni /shawcross as 1st choice

If he's fit he plays it's as simple as that. He's a great defender and is a threat in the opposing penalty area. We are conceding far too many sloppy goals and Huthy will help rectify this. I don't want to hear bollocks about better footballers either, he's there to defend.

Highest premier league scoring defender not long ago, and still the highest scoring stoke defender in histor second highest scoring Stoke defender in history! Denis Smith 46 goals Robert Huth 18 goals Mind you Robert Huth goals per game are slightly higher at 0.095 against Smithies 0.086.
