Knowing the FA, Jon will probably get a charge for that!

He does have something of the hard case about him does Jon! I've not been his biggest fan over the years, but you have got to like the guy. As I've said before though, he's been very good this season. Keep it up lad!

Defenders must dread coming up against Walters- even if they get the better of him through ability, they know they'll be coming off the pitch with bruises. I always enjoy seeing him come up against young, inexperienced full-backs who've probably never experienced anything like the physical mauling that Super Jon gives them. That poor lad from West Ham was virtually in tears by the time the final whistle went!

Some of the abuse he received on here at times was shameful. Even when he was poor (a lot less often than some suggested) he never failed to give absolutely everything for the cause. Stoke City legend.

The criticism at the time was, for the most part, was justified just as the praise is more than justified this season.

I for one have definitely changed my opinion on the bloke. In fact he has become one of my favourite players lately, the way he has played this season and the way he approaches games for us can only be admired and long may it continue.

He was a convenient scapegoat due essentially to Pulis clearly having a bit of a fixation on him. Despite being played out of position and without rest I personally felt he never let us down. I lost count of the arguments I and others had on here defending him. He was far from the weak link he was made out to be and is one of the main reasons we've forgotten what a relegation battle feels like.

Gary Neville always seems to big him up when covering us just saying that Walters is horrible to come up against because he just won't stop

He was all over him, and the lad looked like a lost puppy at times.

There is something likeable about SJW. Apart from the fact that he has made the most of what some would describe as a 'modest' amount of natural ability, and he sweats blood and runs himself into the ground for our club, he comes across as a thoroughly decent, honest and likeable bloke who is able to relate to us supporters in a way that most prem players cannot.

If SJW did batter an opponent for spitting at him the referee should wave play on.

£2.75 million, 200 appearances and 49 x goals. Fantastic work ethic, 100% effort and commitment for every second he's on the pitch. The expression 'Stoke DNA' is Jon Walters. He's also a very humble man who has time for everyone he meets, and his team-mates think the world of him. Sign him up for another couple of years please.

Part of the rehabilitation of people's views on SJW's ability (as opposed to his workrate and commitment) has been his unlikely partnership with Bojan for those few delectable months either side of Christmas. People saw a different SJW, defter of touch and sharper of vision. I am beginning to wish he was five years younger, so that he can stay at his peak for longer. He will wane as he gets more into his thirties. slower, precise and technical players like Crouch can probably go on until they are about 36-37. Super John's game is all about energy and bustle. His duracell battery will die out sooner rather than later, surely?
