We got soares didn't we , clearly the better of the pair Now then Harry, behave
Take your point - and far be it from me to defend TP - but I actually think VM was the season after we signed TS?
That said (& if I'm right) that was also well after we concluded that Tom was a dud and we therefore needed ano winger.
Either way, it's as you were: TP was patchy with his signings & down right terrible with 'ones for the future' signings: it was blatantly obvious VM was going to be a good 'un. I can't blame tone really although I think I remember watching both of them tear us a new bottom when palace came to the Brit

I can though.
In which case, I'll blame him for buying the wrong blinking one then.
(Were they both in that Palarse side btw? Knew Soares was & that got him noticed but can't remember if VM had broken through & played that day by then?)
& apols for not being sad statto enough to know.

I've been advocating caution in rushing to buy him all season. He is exciting and very talented when he wants to be but can also hide for long periods, fail to track back and some of his crosses are awful.
Still think we should hold off making a decision until it is clear which player we are buying. He needs to commit to us just as we need to commit to him.

I get all that Joe (esp the commitment bit) but... would you:
a) buy now for £7M. Done.
or
b) wait until the summer; when he's essentially 'gone' and it all goes back into the melting pot for him & Chelsea to examine their options (& his £ inevitably goes up) and while we chase all sorts of other, 'sexier' options until deadline day?

Why would his value go up ? Chelsea don't want him and although he's been good in parts he hasn't set the world on fire like Bojan was doing before his injury.

True, he's not done a Bojan but he has been (& that deal was) exceptional.
But anyone who thinks that, in today's market, he's not worth 7 big needs their bumps feeling.
I just think that when the transfer window opens and the collective minds of various clubs are more focused on who's around, who's young, good, has PL experience, can make a difference in a game and can still develop, then there would be quite a queue to get him at £7m.
Hence competition & hence a few more £ on the fee.
I am actually still suspicious that figure anyway.

Courtinho cost £8.5 million didn't he ? Is he better than Moses ? Most people would say yes. There are other options out there and I'm sure our scouts are looking especially when you consider we don't want to spend any money lol

I would sign him up for £7m and Stoke wages if he is willing to commit now. If he is going to play the same games as Assaidi then same answer as Assaidi got. I do think he is worth persuing provided the powers that be think they can get his head in the right place. Not down to my opinion it's between him and Sparky.

Moses is a very talented player and can break down defences but is inconsistent.
The disappointing thing about Moses is that he has got regular game time but he has not got better. His inconsistency in the past was put down to not getting regular games, but it seems he is inconsistent "full stop".
MH will just have to make his mind up whether he will be worth the cash and wages demanded, which I expect will be significant.

Also our best player and most attacking threat before Bojan came good.

Even when he was some way below his best on Saturday he was scaring the shit out of their defenders.

I am sure that those who don't think that Moses is worth £7m,are living in hope that Yarmalenko will choose to come to Stoke - which he won't. Today's flavour of the month (Coutinhio) was also inconsistent last season. The only concern that I have, is that he is yet to give any sort of indication that he would consider a long term future at Stoke.

Teams know he is dangerous and Mark him well at this point. If bojan was in they wouldn't, but that's not here or there.
I'm tempted to say put arnie in the mid...pull players off him and maybe create some magic.
