Two players missing, one who didn't even get on the pitch and Bardsley is harshly called 'barf'
Other than that, a pretty accurate assessment

Begovic - 7 Bardsley - 7 Wolly - 8 Wilson -7 Pieters - 8 MOTM Whelan - 7 N'Zonzi - 7.5 Moses - 6.5 Ireland - 7.5 Diouf - 7 Walters - 7.5
Pieters just nicks motm from Wolly for me. Both were excellent throughout, but Erik really showed how important he is to us just after their goal. For a couple of minutes straight after, it threatened to get a bit messy, but Pieters seemed to lead by example and stuck his body on the line (as usual), resulting in a potentially goal saving challenge.

Bego 7 Barf... 7 Woolly 8 Wilson 6 Peters 7 Nzonzi 7 Whelan 7 Moses 6 Arnie 7 Possibly the worst post ever? We played with 9 men-1 of which didn't even get on the pitch??So we actually played with 8!! All the other buggers should get 11+ at least.

IMO N'Zonzi was majestic on the ball, held in well, avoided tackles and losing possession. As usual when the ball went to him, my automatic feeling is comfort and control and safety. But also as usual, I have a feeling of frustration of why doesn't he do more with the ball? His passing is generally sound with the occasional bad pass, and it is far more positive than it used to be, when he would invariably pass backwards to safety rather than being constructive. He has such good ball control that I feel he could carry it forward more and get into a position to make a killer pass or shoot. He would be a better player with other better players who could get into good positions like Bojan. His weakness is shooting.

Begovic - 7 1 great save and not much else to do Bardsley - 6 should have recovered quicker to stop Sinclair but otherwise solid Wolly - 8 MOM Very solid and his lack of pace was never exposed Wilson - 7 Good performance helped to limit Villa to a couple of chances Pieters - 8 Showed us what a quality left back should be Whelan - 6 Usual gritty performance and usual erratic passing N'Zonzi - 8 Everywhere on the pitch and hardly a stray pass Moses - 6 Very hit and miss would love to see him in the game for more than 10 minutes Ireland - 7 Great cross for Diouf goal and some good touches but appears lazy and casual at times Diouf - 7 What a work ethic covered every blade of grass never stopped running tracked back but his first touch and decision making is not great Walters - 7 Harried and hassled with a lot of huff and puff but didn't make much of an impact. Gouranga.

Just looked in today's papers. Nzonzi is given a 6. Only two other players have that the rest a 7. Why does everyone outside of stoke see something different week in week out?

I was working yesterday until half time when driving back on talksport I heard them say just before we scored that villa were bossing possession. I then get home after a good win and his scores on here go from an average ok to superstar 10. I then look in the papers and media and no mention of him. Sky give him a 5 and the Sundays give him 6 when 3/4 of the side got a 7. Mine was a genuine question as I couldn't comment on yesterday as I didn't see the game. I watched the blackburn and Rochdale games amongst many others and he was gash. for the record I'm not the only one who can see it. A certain jimmy greenhoff understands exactly where I'm coming from in that he is a decent player who frustrates the crowd because they know he can do it and a lot more but just plays it safe. For this reason he gets an average match score of 6.89 this season from the stats. I have seen moments where I say go on lad that's the way as he skips around players. I just wish he did it more.

Why does everyone outside of stoke see something different week in week out? Because I love seeing you squirm when he gets praise, faintly clinging on to the idea that just because one journo's opinion it then justifies your pathetic hatred of a player that plays for a team you supposed to support.

All get 8 from me.
The attitude and commitment was back and a shaky first half then we took control and were always a threat and in the game.
Well done lads

You really are thick as fuck. It isn't just one journo. It's every single one. Its the media, pundits. I never hear anyone rave about him outside of stoke. It's michael owen, jimmy greenhoff, me and others on here. I don't hate him. Read my above post word for word without being blinkered to what you want to read.
