Was just playing around on the relegation calculator on the Grimsby site (where I have Wimbledon, Rotherham and Bradford going down). At first I started to see Sheff Utd and Ipswich featuring a lot, and thinking 'lucky bastards, they have quite easy matches in their run in'. But then I got thinking, when do teams who are poor start to dig in as if their lives depended on it? There's a long way to go, but I'm pretty sure that Wimbledon have given up any prospect of Division One survival.
When do teams stop becoming 'fodder'? I reckon there are two types of teams in the relegation run-in. Although they may look easy games on paper, some teams become very difficult to break down (like us last season post City Ground massacre). And then there are teams that it makes no difference how hard they try, be it no luck or just the fact they are shite (a la us 97-98) they will not get the results, end of. So who do you think will be difficult teams for Stoke/anyone to break down and who are the easy 3 points? (Incidentally, in the run-in, Stoke play Gills, Bradford, Rotherham and Notts Forest from the relegation mire).
