What a nice place S-o-T must be to live, if nine BNP councillors can get elected.
Will it be the first place in the country to have a BNP held council do you think? What an accolade that will be.

bnp dont represent working class people any more than the tories or labour do.. cant blame voters, people just dont know who to vote for anymore ... nazis have always fed on disillusionment, frustration etc.
doesnt mean s-o-t isnt a nice place to live, just reflects we've been shit on more than most and people are getting desperate for some sort of alternative.

Why is it always the run-down areas that attract most BNP support?

Post by stokey-pokey pudding and pie on May 2, 2008 17:52:18 GMT
because as i said they feed on disillusionment, frustration and fear. labour have whipped on tensions to try and distract from their own role imo and now the bnp can reap the benefits.

yes, it's sad that people look for someone to have a go at i.e. immigrants when the economics take a downturn, yet don't when times are good.
You'd think they would realise this?

Why is it always the run-down areas that attract most BNP support? Because like it or not that's where there are more uneducated people.

well if you want a lineage - the media whips up racial tensions - media is owned by people like murdoch(spit) and murdoch supports labour in exchange for tax exemptions... so if the government want to distract attention from themselves they can release some bias shite about immigrants to the sun, notw, star.... at the same time tories put bullshit in the mail, telegraph, express, standard etc
tis all fucking corrupt
p.s for anyone voting bnp who worked in steel/pits/pots.. bnp council leader walker is now talking about getting rid of voluntary redundencies and payouts when companies fuck off to indonesia or wherever. so bnp would make it so if our jobs go, we get fuck all and have to go on the dole to find work. same thing labour or the tories would want to do given half the chance

Everyone being 'allowed' to vote is a tricky one.
It does annoy me that some folk with no clue about who stands for what and little enthusiasm to find out are permitted to do something which could actually have quite a material impact on your own life.
It's a little like going to the hospital and asking the first member of staff, even if it's a porter or someone, to try to cure you.
It just wouldn't happen in any other area of life.
Mucking about with universal suffrage is a dodgy path however.

In the simplest of terms politically this city is seen as an impregnable labour stronghold.
This in reality means that on a central government basis Labour will never ever do anything for this city. If we were to be offered as a parliamentary candidate a steaming dog turd in a red rosette it would be carried shoulder high to Westminster. Why would labour have to buy our votes because after all, we follow like lambs to the slaughter.
Now the Conservatives. They have more chance of plaiting fog than winning a seat here. We have never even been close anything but labour Mp's in my 40 years of voting. Why should the Tories waste time and expense on a dead cause.
Lib-Dems .. Either Labour-light or Tory-light .. What an alternative, there's more substance in an instant whip!!
BNP.. well that is so far right wing, how can they make headway in a Labour (socialist) stronghold. It isn't just a race issue they have a morbid fear of the left wing.
Now that is strange. Historically the 30's and 40's had "uncle" Joe Stalin and Austrian Adolf. So disimilar they were poles apart. Or were they? Both were totalatarian dictators with a bent for mass murder of not just opponents but people who were "different." Yes I can see why we get these BNP votes because political views would be on a circular graph. The left viewpoint and right would blur at the top of the circle. NOW COME ON STOKE CITY FC MAKE US PROUD JUST DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BNP.. well that is so far right wing, how can they make headway in a Labour (socialist) stronghold. because they scaremonger the working class.(they take your jobs etc) and who in general are not educated enough (no offence)to realise the truth and are easily lead. In truth only the working class can actually stop this disease from spreading..

it's easy to see why they win seats though. How many people have I seen on this very board saying they won't vote. If you don't vote, surely you have very little right to complain.

It's different for the Nazis and for BNP, Germans DID vote for Nazis, looking for a radical alternative. Although BNP could be considered as a radical alternative too, I believe it is ignorance and a lack of intelligence that leads people to vote for them.
My opinion, probably worth jack shit.
