So they'll let a Brazilian in but not an American. Get on to Obama straight away! Oh, and by the way, no surprise there then. Corruption reigns!

Is he on the fringes of the international team? It not, this is even more ludicrous as he would be just another Brazilian that has swamped the European market over the years. I note also that a number of articles and quotes from "experts" lean towards his excellent "potential" as opposed to his actual excellence.
Not at all different from Agudelo who WAS on the International fringes, was seen as an exciting potential by the "experts" but was refused :/

If they get a permit it is a mockery of the rules.

So if we apply again tomorrow and insist that the hearing is before deadline day should we go for him?
A loan? (not sure where from) or a purchase?

He'd get in anyway without one if the reports of him getting a passport through the back door are accurate. I get the feeling I'm the only one that doesn't really care about Arsenal signing this lad.

Work permits are issued by the department of works and pension not the FA,know the rules before you complain ,the FA can only grant a player a licence once he has gained his work permit from the Government.

Much like sponsors for work permits for non EU applicants... I'm sure the FA can influence this much more than just the home office looking at it objectively.

The fa provide the guidance for the home office. I'm pretty sure Theresa May doesn't have a global scouting network for foreign footy players

I've emailed the FA asking why Paulista was given a WP when he has no international credentials and yet Juan Agudelo, capped over 40 times for USA including 18 full caps, was refused a WP to play for Stoke City.

Friend of mine did that at the time when his 2nd appeal was rejected. They said they couldn't give a reply, but dragged it out for like 3-4 paragraphs.

And the footballing authorities in this country have the nerve to accuse Fifa of corruption. It's like Fred West taking the moral high ground and having a pop at Ian Huntley.

Unbelievable that this is just swept under the rug with so many clubs vying for people with more international caps and prestige to be denied but Arsenal sniff some brazilian lad and hold on the FA approves it without even as much as a look at him. Fucking joke the FA are. I hope Swansea, Hull and Stoke all get together to give the FA a right challenge to this as a bit of hypocritical bullshit it is.

I'm scratching my head that Paulisto has been granted a work permit to sign for Arsenal. He is Brazilian and has never played for Brazil. Playing for Arsenal! No problem welcome to our country here is your work permit. Then there is the young guy who has just signed for Leicester. Similar credentials but given a work permit. When it comes to an American who has played for his country,USA and is an up and coming talent he is not granted a work permit. Can someone explain the difference or justify the verdicts to me.

The Arse have a supporter in the work permit-granting office - and his boyfriend supports Leicester (wink)
