If this rumour of a 1million pound + move is true then just think of what TP could do with the money? Given that he has got the calibre of players we see today with virtually nothing, imagine if he could push the boat out, i'm talking three or four really good players being bought, not toss hasbeens but players like Svard, Griffin, wages for someone like Matt Elliot?
With the push we are having on the play offs and the team getting more and more press coupled with the potential thousands more flocking to see us next season AND this money......SCFC suddenly looks like a very good choice for a Prem player on the fringe?

Forget it, there's no way we'll get more than £200,000 for Commons unless he signs a new contract. In fact, we'd be lucky to see that much.

North, if you believe ANY club is going to pay a million for a player who is out of contract then can I have what you are smoking. ;D
If he goes, we'll get a fee set by a tribunal (as he is under 24) unless Liverpool are on the same stuff as you.
Think Johns Halls for £50k rising to £100k and then consider what Commons is worth at the present moment - then add a bit on for potential and for being an attacker and you'll be in the right ball park.

Thats true if a team came in NOW. The rumour is that this agreement was made possibly even when he was still recovering from his injury- he had many admirers before that, maybe 1 bunged us a wedge then, he certainly wasn't a first team starter since then?
At that time any prospective employer would know he had a year left and wanted to get in early as once he got back to full fitness and into the first team there would be plenty more clubs sniffing around. I'm not saying this is what has happened but it fits into place, the reason he never got to be a first team regular (rumoured that new club don't want him first team incase injured) the reason he is hardly played (may upset the dedicated players to have someone who wants to and is leaving playing week in week out)
It makes me wonder when we recall Henry from Chelt when we have Commons who could easily step into the first team?

If your theory is true why didn't Liverpool buy him in the January window?
As for Henry's recall - he is a tallish defensive midfielder who can double up at full back. Commons is a tiny attacking midfielder who has never played a first team game at full back. Its like comparing chalk and cheese.

If thats the case he must be plenty pissed off that he was called back when there was a place up for grabs in his exact position and it is filled by a left back?

North, it must be a pain in the butt for young players in Henry's situation but TP is going to field the strongest team he can with the best quality bench that he can and if that means recalling players to put on the bench so be it.
I don't always agree with TP's selections/tactics but I can't argue with the results so far.

I think you're missing the point of the thread, IF the rumours are true (IF, i'm not debating it's truth) just think of how attractive a proposition SCFC would be with the extra supporters, the renewed optimism, the push for promotion and the thought of Pulis being able to get some great players?
That was my point, I'm not here to argue the merit of the rumour

True, north. And if my rumour (which I have just started) about ManU bidding £8 million for Thomas to cover for Ferdinand is true, we would have even more money to spend!
