Got to break this down by platform
I had a Vic 20 first! Think the only game I can remember was Scramble
Spectrum - Daley Thompsons Decathlon - many a Kempston joystick broken....
Nintendo - Mario. Still play it now, fantastic platform fun.
Mega Drive - Sonic. Groundbreaking graphics for a home console in 1991
PS1 - Tomb Raider 1 & 2. Looks clunky now, but at the time was fantastic, and the whole open world explorer environment was new and exciting, great storylines, awesome character.
PS2 - Toughie this one, but I still play it now - Guitar Hero 3, Legends of Rock. Mintness, and I can complete HARD level including Slayer :-) Never got more than halfway up Expert!
PS3 - Loved the TR reboot, but for pure playability UNCHARTED (1 or 2) are ace. 3 is also good if a little linear, have big expectations for UC4 having seen the PS4 gameplay trailers
PS4 - Have 15 PS4 games, Watchdogs I completed over Xmas, really enjoyed the game, the story, the challenges - top drawer
Looking forward this year to PS4s 1886: The Order and Uncharted 4.
And Rise of the Tomb Raider if the Micro$oft fuckers dont keep it as an exclusive.

C64 Ikari Warriors, and many more on there. Amiga Geoff Crammonds F1 was fantastic. PS1 Destruction Derby PS2 Dropship what a game that was, it needs to be remade on PS4 PS3 GTA games, F1 games, Gran Turismo. PS4 Still exploring this platform, but GTA 5 is great, just got Alien Isolation. Pre ordered Project Cars. My gaming started way back on the Binatone console. Oh on PC, one of my all time favourites, Battlefield 2142. I once took out 34 players when defending a corridor on a Titan

Elite. With the resources that were available at the time on a BBC micro the scale and implementation was just staggering.
Other games that stand out: Kick Off 2 on the Amiga. Need for Speed on the 3DO - once left a couple of mates (who were visiting) at my flat in Poole while I went to a Stoke game. Told them that I'd be back around 8:30pm (leaving the flat around 8am). Told them which boozer to meet in later that evening on my return. When I came back to the flat to change I found them still there, they'd been playing NFS for about 15 hours solid. They weren't even that keen on heading for a drink. The sad thing was because of all the practice they'd had they'd become a bit better than me! Pro Evo until about 3 or 4 years ago. FIFA for the last 3 or 4 years

Kane and Lynch, no reason needed. If it's the first one then I agree it's a very good game.

On the Mega Drive; Ghouls n Ghosts and the original Desert Strike. Loved Desert Strike and the original ThunderHawk on the MegaCD. With the first Gulf conflict just dying down Desert Strike felt very realistic as an eleven year old. Since the PS1 games just don't hold my attention anymore, liked the Star Wars and Marvel Lego stuff though

Was that the one that used DMX 'your gonna make me lose my mind' as the intro music? EDIT: Sorry, that was 04....I couldn't believe it when I turned the game on for the first time, DMX used for a golf game.....pure genius from EA 05 had a band called BT. Though I don't know who sings the intro song. Justin Timberlake is also in the game as 'The Hustler' who had the 8 ball as his golf ball. The games were so fun back in the day, but nowadays I hate playing Golf games because they're no fun and too serious now. Same with FIFA. Now its the world of all graphics no game play. Shame really. The outlaw golf games sound more like your scene mate.

Destruction Derby 2. Nothing comes close to it in terms of fun, nothing. THE best Playstation game. I spent many happy hours on that. (Have you heard of 'Wreckfest' ? It looks a similar game to the original DD2, but 'upgraded'. I'm considering it, but have seen many poor reviews, concerning dev updates.) When I got my first pc, Call of Duty; United Offensive was the game to play. It was brilliant on multiplayer, just brilliant. I feel CoD ruined itself by going all modern warfare. The original attraction of CoD, for me, was the WWII setting.

In 1993 Digital Integration Games brought out a combat flight sim called Tornado. It was based on the TORNADO fighter bomber used in the first Gulf War and allowed you fly over four European combat areas and Iraq with thousands of objects - buildings, roads, power lines, trees and much more. From tanks to TV towers to rivers and railways, TORNADO featured ultrarealistic 3-D world terrain rivaling the military's own top secret simulators. It also had the most sophisticated mission planning system ever seen in any flight simulation game, It let you set your autopilot parameters, check your waypoint flight times, fuel consumption, altitude and airspeed with the most complex fighter jet avionics ever created. You could also arm with laser guided bombs and other sophisticated weaponry. A truely brilliant flight sim way ahead of its time considering it was DOS based. Never surpassed, many flight sim aficionados have begged for this game to be brought up to date for modern platforms but to no avail unfortunately. I really wish I'd held on to my old PC with Windows 95 and DOS so I could still play the game that is in my loft.

Dota 2 - really difficult but rewarding when you are good! Takes a lot of time to learn though!
Fifa's - all the Fifa's have been good as I love manager mode and destroying people online
Cod - the best cod's were MW2, Black Ops, MW3 and black ops 2 IMO. But I'm good at them all!

I just run an old system on Win XP which I find does most stuff.

Need for speed underground 2. Favourite racing game due to all the modifying and street racing. Haven't really liked any of the need for speed franchise since underground 2, they went all circuit racing with proper race cars.
As I'm typing this my copy of the new need for speed has just come through the door hopefully this one is more like the older games
