Ok Bardsley Is he better on the ball? No will he get more assists? No Will he get more goals? No Does he get caught out of position? Yes Has he been accountable for many goals this season ? Yes Should he have been sent off tonight? Probably Is he better than Cameron at right back ? No Is Whelan better than Cameron in centre midfield? Yes

Bardsley was awful tonight as was Cameron.
I'd still have Bardsley over Cameron as I generally don't rate Geoff in the main.
He gave the ball away a ridiculous amount of times tonight.

If Bards could play as he did before he got injured this season I would certainly prefer Bards, but after the injury I really think he has been poor for too many games. Right now I would actually opt for Cameron despite I know he often loses his concentartion.

Are people really judging Phil Bardsley's effectiveness for Stoke City based on a night against one of the best players in the world?
Give me strength.

I like the fifth given the first goal today. I'm glad you can raise a smile after our right backs "performance" today. I genuinely thought he was ok, I know not many do but Chelsea really didn't trouble us much and that was down to a good defensive performance in general. The first goal is wank marking from Cameron. The second is a result of chasing the game. Hazard wasn't great I thought, in fact I thought he was quite poor. And that tackle Bardsley did was fucking fantastic.

As the 'thought police' contend - we are judging people whilst playing against one of the top half dozen sides in Europe on this thread

I'm becoming more concerned with Bardsley with every game, Cameron is simply a better a footballer who doesn't make stupid rash challenges.

He was fucking woeful and we improved DRAMATICALLY when Charlie replaced him.

Bardsley lost possession and was out of position just as much as Cameron in midfield tbh. Both were out classed today. But Bardsley going forward is woeful usually no matter the opposition. He's the new Wilko who can cross once a game.

I'd play Cameron at RB against the top teams as going forward Cameron is a lot stronger, and against the lesser sides, Bardsley as he's more of an old school full back who gets stuck in

I know for some reason that you will take that personally as usual just because he plays for USA

Jamo, Cameron probably gave the ball away a fair few more times than N'Zonzi actually put in a tackle. From that perspective, they complimented each other. Cameron was winning the battle with players far his superior. N'Zonzi put in a single challenge, albeit a massively important one, as Chelsea were breaking. I don't think Bards performance was absolutely horrific. I don't think Cameron's was either. Going up against Hazard and co is a massive challenge and better players have failed miserably. We're all blaming the players for the fact we were simply beaten by a better team. If we want to beat teams like Chelsea on a consistent basis, Coates would have to invest his life savings... and he won't, so forget that.

Hazard did sod all tonight really.....but the right back was shit apparently.
I thought he was ok.....
I thought the defensive unit including Cameron played well tonight in open play tbh. The issues came in the final third and one set piece. Chelsea really didn't trouble us.
