I'd have fucked off if I'd seen Dean Whitehead get a fucking run on the wing instead of me as well. Not to mention Ryan 'Gareth Bale' Shotton. H I get the point but I have to say I don't recall Whitehead on the wing!! Well I do mate and it was fucking shocking. H

If Pulis wanted him to stay, the fucking hell did he play the myriad of shit on the wing that he did? It was one of the key things that killed him here. The thing is Bayern, I don't actually think anyone thought he was going to be the permanent answer to the wing problem, but everyone apart from Pulis and Tazi could see he was a better option than the plethora of wank he persisted with. Tazi was still suggesting that our best right back option was Lewis Buxton at this time, even though he was no longer with us. H He's dead? Sent from my Nexus 5 using proboards

It happened more than that and seemed quite a regular thing for shoring up the right flank when we were 1-0 down. The season after we were treated to Kightly, Adam, an ever increasingly knackered and shite Jon Walters, and every increasingly injured and shite Matty Etherington on the wing. Lets be honest, his not replacing Ethers and Pennant cost the bloke big time!

He didn't but he still could have played him more or got rid of him or actually come out and said what went on. All three of those options are better than the cloak and dagger shit that went on. Jerome on the wing too, just because he was quick...........starting to sound eerily close to home.

He perhaps should have been given a chance, but to be fair Pulis never really had the opportunity to give him a run. After he broke his leg at Carlisle, Pulis (quite rightly) sent him out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday where, by all accounts, the lad did really well, but it was League One football. He came back to the club in the January and within a week he left to join Leicester.
It's all very well banging on about Whitehead and Shotton but the fact remains that Marshall was not at the club or eligible to be picked during these times.

He came back from that loan spell in January, stayed at the club for a week, and then fucked off to Leicester. We played him in a reserve game, he scored two and then we sold him. We then had to contend with the myriad of shit on the wing that we were left with because Tone showed no interest on having him even on the bench never mind playing him. It was piss poor management and one of the major fuck ups that contributed to his downfall, make no mistake about it!

I watched him in a friendly a Newcastle Town before he was sent out on loan and he was miles off the pace. He needed games and Sheffield Wednesday was a good stage for him to play regularly and improve. Rory was an experienced international footballer, it's not really a fair comparison.

We accepted a million for him instead of losing him for nothing in the summer. Scoring two goals in a jumpers for goalposts kick about is neither here nor there. I'd say his decision had already been made.

I'd say his decision had already been made. There was a cup game he was eligible for and at the club for just before he left that would have been perfect for him and he got nowhere near the pitch. Are you really suggesting he was a worse option than Shotton out there?

As he left us, he went on to have a great season and was scoring 30-35 yarders galore in the FA Cup. Then he settled down a little, but as mp says he's having a really good season. Seems to be their main creative outlet and (again) I agree that he didn't get the chance he deserved. when you say "Was scoring 30-35 yarders galore in the FA cup" are you referring to the 1 goal he's ever scored in the FA cup in his entire career? nothing like massively over egging things is there?

Are you really suggesting he was a worse option than Shotton out there? Im suggesting that there was never a logical window of time to give him a run in the team. Given that he left the club three days after the Cup game against Derby, I would say its a safe bet he had already made his mind up to refuse the clubs offer of a new contract and sign for Leiester.
