Iwelumo had a blatant goal dissalowed to. Seems we cant get away from shite referees even at the reverse's games.

A fairly good reserve game to, in bitterly cold conditions however.
Their number eight played well and Clint Hill really stood out for us.
Greenacre and Lumo looked dangerous 2nd half.
Even Nick Hancock was there!

free to get in with a Stoke season ticket at the Lyme Valley Stadium, otherwise a couple of quid (sometimes pay myself, Newcastle Town could do with the extra cash) Reserve games at the Brit are usually free entry

I was listening to radio stoke do a live broadcast from the ground(not commentary mind). They talked to quite a few ex stokies and others who were there apparently scouting. I heard him mention that Nick hancock was there as was phil rawlins. Inchy was there, evident he still has a passion for the club. Also Lou Macari was there, as was Gudjon. also mentioned paul bracewell, martin foyle, neil baker and said quite a few other scouts and managers were there. Did anyone see any managers or scouts there not listed above?

Phil was there, Nick Hancock left early with his kids. Martin Foyle also left shortly before the end and had a bit of a chat with David Kevan on his way out. Kevan was talking to Noel Blake (one of Gudjon's staff at Barnsley) didn't see Gudjon around though.

Its always cold at reserve games. Whatever the weather elsewhere it'll always be freezing at a reserve game.
Like it always rains at League Cup games.

Joe,
The weather today was strange - snowing when I set out for the match at dinner time, overcast in Hanley, bright sunshine in Newcastle and Clayton in the first half, then back to another shower of snow towards full time.

As Joyce, who I used to work on a potbank with, used to say.
"You never know with the weather duck"
Wise words I'm sure you'll agree.

when I used to go reserve games up at the Vic ..... back in the day
went to one against Blackburn reserves I think it was (when they had couple of million pound players in the reserves) that was abandoned at half time ... due to a frozen pitch....

Perhaps the coldest I've ever been was a reserve game against Liverpool and we drew 1-1 with Liverpool getting a last minute equaliser. It was a new years day.

I saw Neil Baker in the pub last night and he mentioned the reseve game What did you think of them I asked - well I was too busy chatting to the other scouts to take much notice of the game said Baker - sounds like these games are like a club meeting for the managers! I warned him Ade would give Crwho grief when we play them. Baker said they wouldn't be giving him as much room as the likes of Ipswich and others did Little does he know - Ade doesn't need to be given space - he takes it!
