7 goals Burnley had scored before yesterday and had recently lost 4-0 at West Brazil.
We go from Champions League form to relegation form within adjacent games.

We should have put the money down and signed a recognised striker. I knew it would bite us in the bum, and as far as I'm concerned it has done. Been banging on about this for ages! It needs sorting in January. Crouchy and Diouf are not the answer! Much as I have always liked Crouchy, we need a bloody goalscorer! Your right. I was thinking a couple of months ago that Walters wouldn't get on "my bench", but now he looks our most dangerous player! I don't think there is a high risk of relegation but it is time for Stoke to dig deep in the pockets next January to maintain a top ten place with a recognised consistent goal scorer, no matter how old he is.

I just envy the stats of many other PL clubs and one in particular. Yesterday, Man Utd were poor(I watched the game live, on the way home) and Arsenal should have had the game sewn up, by half time.
United's first goal came gratis, via a lucky deflection off the prone Gunner, Gibbs. If anyone else comes out with that nonsense about 'good teams often win when playing badly', I'll close my ears. Man Utd (for example) haven't won a single game to date, this season, one of their fans tells me, thanks to a decent performance and yesterday, was just such another. They won because the opposition failed to capitalise, by missing some sitters (I don't count the good goalkeeping as luck, as that's credit to United) and because they were presented with a deflection. How is that the sign of a great team?!?
As most people parrot that 'luck evens itself out', I can't wait for the second half of the season, as if that's true, we'll be well up the top half of the table.
Am not underestimating our problems, which need sorting out but it would be nice to have some better luck.
