Great start by Moeen 56* off 32 balls. He played very well.....moment of madness to run himself out . Never two in a million years , pity .

Moeen wanted a single, Hales stood in his ground didn't move so Ali had to turn around a practically run two to make it back in. Entirely Hales fault imo it was Ali's call and when he made it he should have run.

Yes well I amend my assesment of his bowling somewhat .....I don't think he's the genuine article yet , but he's improvement is encouraging .....yes

Yes well I amend my assesment of his bowling somewhat .....I don't think he's the genuine article yet , but he's improvement is encouraging .....yes He's certainly good enough to be a second spinner - which makes him ok to be classed as an all rounder IMO with more to come hopefully in future. A great prospect!

Well done England .....good result that we needed badly Absolutely. 34 from Cook too. Maybe buys him a bit of time to get a bit of form. Maybe - probably puts him ahead of Morgan as the man most likely to make way for Taylor - who has to be in the side for the next game. Cook though remains a massive problem. Let's be clear - today was the sort of inconsequential knock that has seen Bell (rightly) get dropped. Scores of 30 odd ain't anything to shout about particularly at less than a run a ball. He's got to post some scores north of 70, preferably three figures and at, at least a run a ball. But enough of him. Credit to three young lions today. Well done Ali, Root and Butler. English cricket looks very exciting when you boys are playing.

It was a shame indeed as Moeen has been playing some great stuff, lets hope he can keep this form up for the next couple of months or so, if he carries on like he has in these first few games we may have a real quality player on our hands.

Yes I agree he has certainly come on in leaps and bounds since the start of last summer .....he was a little iffy against the short stuff in Tests last summer , if he can work that out I think he will have a decent career before him

Mr Morgan does well again. He is struggling Bayern .....why would you replace Cook as captain with him who is performing worse with the bat over the last twelve months ?

English cricket looks very exciting when you boys are playing. Well Cook only made 34 .....but he was involved in an opening stand of 84. In only 11.4 overs .....it set us up for a flying start to put us in position to ultimately win the game ....I certainly don't class it as an inconsequential innings .....but we do view things from a different angle so I won't argue the point , suffice it to say the result was the most important thing today ......and the youngsters did indeed do well
