It is very naive to do a piece on Stoke city over the last ten years and barely mention the other key influenced and also not to recognise the role he played in those achievements , we all have our moans not least me but we nor mr scholes would be where we are today without Tony Pulis and to ignore his role smacks of naivety and self congratulation at best the more negative version I shall leave to others, but it's a poor show , churlish and lacking in recognition of one of the main change drivers

I did indeed believe his time had corne but have said many a time since
- the man face us 100% commitment - some great times - turned up the day his mother passed away and changed a game - changed the course of our modern history
So whatever disagreements no one should begrudge him a thanks and warm welcome when he returns one day .

I think its fairly common knowledge how divisive Pulis was to the inner workings of the football club, Scholes was just confirming it.
I've met Scholes a number of times and he's a decent bloke.

You gotta like it how Akinbiyi gets called a cunt and it doesn't get deleted, Infact it got quoted by a member of admin followed by chat chat.
Gotta love how one can get away with abusing former players and how another gets told about it then deleted.

Hooray - now this thread has balance! Or at least the Sheikh's version of it. And knowing Sheikhy as we do I'm sure he'll soon explain chapter and verse exactly why he thinks Scholes is a liar and exactly what the lies were. Conner wait! Sadly, the Oatcake gestapo have jack booted up, informed me via personal message that they are in Tony Scholes pocket and will delete my views on the matter, despite a member of the team goading me on this very thread. Pathetic but true. Not guilty your honour! I would never for a single second dream of suppressing your history rewrites and complete made up bollox. You know that! Tazi are you sure you heard correctly? Remember the sound muffling effect of having your ears between the arse cheeks of anyone at the club who meets your criteria for judging them?

Have you had a word with Mark about egging me on? Not very 'decent' is it. A sad day when the chief executive of the football club has its major fanzine in it's pocket like a pet gerbil. I always knew you wouldn't post a single word of made up bollox repeated to destruction to make it sound like fact without my prompting. You are in my pocket. We are in TS' pocket. We are all in one big happy pocket together!! I will still accept you grovelling apology and retraction all the same. Getting so many things completely wrong and still carrying on painting yourself into a corner of bitterness must be getting to you surely? Grovelling apology and you can feel absolved brother.

Transport to away games for those outside of Stoke - nope. How would the club even accommodate that? Odd. Surely with the riches of bet 365 they can buy National Express and turn it into Stokes very own coach service for away games, simples.

A self aggrandising piece written on behalf of Mr. Scholes it must be said. Almost an air of "advertorial" to it in truth. I note Mr. Scholes throws his hat on the Begovic and Shawcross transfers as though they were entirely his own and appears to have written Tony Pulis, the manager responsible for almost the entire successful period of his 10 year stay, completely out of the plot. It set me thinking that maybe he doesn't think managers really matter and it is Chief Execs that count but he seems willing to big up Mr. Hughes who may well also go on to prove a success but has thus far delivered 3 good months for the club being February, March and April 2014 the rest of his short tenure has been a real struggle if I am honest. Strange stuff

The snivelling apology for leaping to conclusion and repeating it until you believed it is taking some time? Must really be worth waiting for!! 'Be loyal, Be Proud, Be Scholes' Thats a strange apology to a chap who you so wrongly and repeatedly accused of censoring your 'Facts" dossier on Mr Scholes isn't it? I mean that looks like you are carrying on repeating a fact that is total made up bollox and has been proven to be completely wrong. Has anyone ever accused you of that before?

...he seems willing to big up Mr. Hughes who may well also go on to prove a success but has thus far delivered 3 good months for the club being February, March and April 2014 the rest of his short tenure has been a real struggle if I am honest. Strange stuff That's as grudging a summing up of last season as I've seen. It might have only been three good months, although this ignores the two wins against Fulham and WBA in May, but we finished in our highest Premier League position, with our highest Premier League points total, scoring some great goals and playing the best football we've seen for decades. If that's a real struggle, it's a head scratcher as to what you made of what came before it. Strange stuff indeed.

Fair enough the "3 months" may have crept in to early May, so we can call it 3 and a bit good months. Perhaps that shows just how good those 3 and a bit good months were because we were bottom 3 on February 2nd and could be again this time tomorrow night. It's a big one tomorrow night, I am sure we can both agree on that. NB Agreed it sound grudging hence why it is a point I have studiously avoided making thus far this Scholes article just forced my hand.

It's a bog one tomorrow night, I am sure we can both agree on that. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit anxious about tomorrow night, but I also half expected us to struggle for the first couple of months as well - I don't particularly like the idea that we have to wait for Hughes' teams to come good as the season goes on, but I've bought into the fact that this will probably continue to be the case. Overall, I'm still confident that we can better last seasons totals irrespective of how we do against Newcastle, and if we do so playing the kind of football we did last season, I'd hope not too many would be describing it as a struggle to watch.

I got killed for saying this last week but I think we have blown beating last seasons points total already with the points we have pissed up the wall so far. If you don't believe me take a look at the 11 fixtures commencing 9th November and ending 10th January. For me I'm hoping our home form picks up so we don't have any unnecessary excitement as the season approaches its denouement and that we can do something in one or other of the cups!

I can't remember too many times over the past 40 years where we've not largely disappointed against the bottom sides - last season was no different. And we've already seen that Leicester are nobody's mugs. The fixtures will even themselves out, and as the season goes on, more teams will come to the Brit needing more than a draw, which might just play into our hands. Most of us are expecting a few more points away from home as well, so overall, I think last season's totals are still easily within reach. I'm as desperate for a win as anyone tomorrow though. Even though Newcastle are bottom, I honestly think beating them and getting our first home win could really set us up for a good season.

Furthermore, it would also be fair to say that although he did get rid of the true supporters card.... But wasn't he behind the thought process of bringing it into being in the first place? No. Scholes arrived 2004 and the id cards came in 2003.
