This must be a mistake. I thought I'd woke up in January. Funny that. It's usually around then that benjamin goes into hibernation, never to be heard of again until our next near-relegation experience next August.

I would argue that 5 games is enough to establish something of a pattern and our inability to take opportunities when presented up front and our slackness in certain defensive scenarios are there for all to see. It is also clear that a good many teams are well capable of upsetting the odds and beating the big boys so the table will probably be more compressed than in previous seasons. The above combined means that there is a fair old chance we will struggle to achieve last seasons position and could even be rather closer to the relegation mix than we would like. None of this is panicking etc etc its just the way things are panning out.

D'you remember when we lost 1-0 at Sunderland in January? We were 16th and 3 points above the drop, there was more justifiable knicker wetting and men acting like young girls at that point in time.
We finished 9th on 50 points.
Not wishing to sound like someone telling it like it is but fuckin' grow up some of you. Big girls bra's.

Haha this has to be one of my most favorite comedy threads, how many "teams around us" have beaten Man City away! If it wasn't for some poor finishing from the Fonz and Peats we would have been first on MOTD, that's coming by the way! Seriously, even with Palace winning there is still Burnley, QPR, the north east and the shite (haha)! Come on you mighty potter!

What a bunch of spineless little boys there are on this thread.Clearly the end of the season can be predicted after five games. We have lost as many games as Man City at home, one less than Liverpool so far, and have conceded less than Man U. Clearly that's 3 teams we will finish above based on current form. Get a grip or get some incontinence pads. Oops, Man City have equalized, so we must go down now.

I think one thing we have to be wary off is that 'teams around us' seem to have strengthened very well. Spending money in this league is not a crime and its not a universal rule that new signings all need lots of time to settle in. We have strengthened the squad but only marginally strengthened our first 11. I think we'll finish 12 or 13th at this stage.

Jeez talk about fucked up results this weekend, West Ham, Leicester, West Brom and Palace all won when they were all clear favourites to lose! It's going be a tight league again this season.

how many teams around us lost both their 2 home games against shit opposition ? Do you seriously believe we will be in a relegation fight this season? honest answer - I don't know. What I'm sure of is that we will definitely not be competing for the top 7/8 places. Will we be drawn into the relegation scrap ? I don't know but I cannot discount it as being impossible. Not if we continue to throw away precious points as we've done so far and teams around us continue to pick up bonus points against the bigger sides.

We will pick up points when those around us don't. Chelsea could only draw against a 10 man Man City, we beat an 11 man Man city.

Was anybody ever seriously expecting us to be challenging for the top 7/8 places? I have seen enough to believe that we will comfortably finish in the middle of the league and be nowhere near the relegation scrap. The home form will come as the new players settle and the manager settles on his best 11,and away from home we look a threat on the break and will cause teams problems. We definitely threw 2 points away yesterday and we should have battered them out of sight even though we were nowhere near our best, but It's still early days yet and the league table means fuck all at this stage,we will be fine, dunna werrit.

I find this amusing as all the results have pretty much gone against us and yet we've moved up a place to 13th.

We will finish where we deserve to finish regardless of what other teams do. Get a grip of yourselves you big bunch of flanges. Flange is a much underused term. As is Minge. There was a radio advert on the other day whilst I was driving my car home from work. It said "say the first word that comes into your head". I shouted out "minge"
