Drop is a strong word. Crouch will not be able to consistently play 90 minutes Paul. Pull your head out of Football Manager or FIFA for a minute. Life doesn't work like that. A full 90 minutes on Saturday, followed by some contribution against Sunderland could see him pretty tired when he comes up against Newcastle.
What do you mean 'pull my head out'?
No need to get personal metalhead - I politely asked you a simple question and now you're telling me how life works ... jeez.
Surely you're able to have a discussion, without instantly getting all defensive about it.
You'd drop/replace/leave Crouch on the bench so that Arnie can start.
Fine.
Sorry, I snapped. Had a few people at me today about fairly innocent comments mate. What I meant is that Crouch won't be able to consistently give 90 minutes, not at 33 anyway. If he can, then fair enough but I just don't see it. It's a chance to rest Crouch because I fully believe we will need him fresh for the game against Swansea.

It's amazing how short some people's memories are. ...people need a black sheep if things don´t run well...Arni has "certain qualifications" (most of them assumed by the yellow press) to be a punching ball....that´s his destiny.

Nail on the head. People wrote him off this stage last year and look what happened. Genuinely think he misses Odem on the other wing to help stretch the game, he was also an unknown quantity last year. Teams will have brushed up on him this year. As for a lot of players, our manager and stoke city in general, posters were that pissed of they were proved wrong last season they can't wait to stick the boot in after 2 poor games. Agenda driven spunktrumpets. Do you have to use the word AGENDA in every post you make? Are you getting paid per AGENDA? Do you have an AGENDA about AGENDA?

Although the front 3 did well on saturday we need to rotate and try different combinations depending on the opposition/ tiredness etc.
All 3 played well but that should mean sweet FA if we need a different option in a different game.
Arnie - Diouf - Moses
With Assaidi to come on from the bench. That gives us plenty of width and pace to play on the counter. We cant expect Crouch to play every single minute of every game

I must admit the strangest thing about this season so far for me has been the triumvirate of Arnie, Wingie, Assaidi or the lack of it.
It just doesn’t seem right that these 3 who tore in to Fulham in the 4-1 win on the final game of last season against Fulham only 4 short months ago and formed the spearhead of our attacking options in that great spell of 3 months we had in February, March and April have all simply blipped off the radar for various reasons ?
I guess we will see Assaidi and Arnie start to bat their way back in. We may have seen Wingie before his chronic injury but Sparky chose instead to rest him as he recuperated from World Cup duties.
Feels like we are starting again just when we had momentum at the end of last term.

I for one dont get this he was awful pre feb last season. Agreed he had a few poor games, Hull away, Villa home, yet most of the of our attacks went through him. Look what he did at United away.
People who question his arm throwing, look back to his debut against City at home. In the last minute he hit a shot that landed on the roof of the net. He was disgusted he didnt score. This is a guy who wears his heart on his sleeves.
The guy is a magician, weve seen him do things in a stoke shirt not many others are capable of. I dont get this slating him all the time. He has showed nothing but appreciation & respect to us fans.

Should he start instead of Moses or Diouf? NO
Does he have the pace to stretch teams when coming on from the bench like Assaidi does? NO
He's a manager's nightmare not knowing which Arnie will turn up for each game.
We need to get Moses signed up permanently in January and fuck Arnie off.

Arnie will definitely come good, I have know doubt about it.
I'd actually like to see him in the advanced midfield role to allow Moses and Diouf/Assaidi to fill that wide positions.
A front four of
Arnie
Assaidi Moses
Diouf
Looks quite exciting once they're all fully firing.

Amazing, we've got people on other threads chubbing about results then in the next breath slaughtering a bloke who contributed massively to our BEST EVER POINTS AND FINISH last season WHO'S NOT IN THE TEAM.
Maybe if he was in the team we would have got more points..?
Arnie needs 'managing' it's plainly obvious. He's also one of the major talents in the squad and needs to be more involved IMHO.
Short memories indeed...

Arnie is a maverick who has all the attributes to be a top, top player. However there is a reason why he only cost 2 million pounds. He's not as good as what he thinks he is that's for sure but I really hope he comes good, on form he's a very exciting player.

I'm really struggling to believe how some people on here are justifying him being utter wank until after Christmas last season and again starting terrible this season.
How many chances are you going give him?
He's arrogant, idle and thinks he's better and bigger than the club.

I was at the game. I was surprised he came on when he did. Arnie takes a bit of time to get the engine going (and, perhaps, the brain)...you'd have needed about 15 minutes of extra time for him to make a contribution. I was hoping to see Ossie come on. Not a good substitution. As for the general situation he probably feels threatened by Moses doing such a good job. That's his hard luck.

Very true. His pre-Feb form is often overlooked Performing for 4 months a season isn't good enough though is it. You do realise that before his outstanding 4 months, nearly every attack came through him (created more chances than any other player!)? To call him Idle is absolute bollox, he was in top 5 of distance covered for the season. He made more tackles than any other winger.
