So sad how things have turned out for a bloke who almost literally had the world at his feet. One of the best players I have ever had the privilege to watch, a Stoke legend but unfortunately a wasted life for the most part.

Tragic. Without any doubt whatsoever, one of the best players to play for Stoke City. An absolute treat to have seen him play! Our thoughts are with him.

By far the best player I've ever seen play for The Potters, a joy to watch. I can remember being at the 100th international match at Wembley versus West Germany and he totally ran the show. I really wish him well and hope for a full recovery.

I hope he pulls through. He wasn't my favourite player (that was a toss up between Jimmy G and Ritchie) but he was certainly the best player during my 60 years as a Stoke fan. In his first spell at the club he totally dominated games in a way you rarely see from any side let alone Stoke.
Many of his troubles since he retired have been at least partly self inflicted but prostate cancer seems to be unbiased in who it chooses to attack. Let's hope he's one of those men who make a good recovery - as several friends and family have done.
Maybe the club could add Prostate Cancer UK, or a similar charity, to the list of charities they support either this year or next?

Anyone living Cannock way, there is a fund raiser for prostate cancer at the Littleton Arms on the afternoon of Saturday 6th September.
3rd most common cancer, but 85% survive at least 10 years.

Very sad news. All the best, Huddy. At least its one of the 'less bad' cancers, and very treatable if found early enough. Without question, one of the finest, most gifted footballers ever to play the game in England, let alone for Stoke City.
