That's a decent move for him. If Crewe can't get the best out of him, no one can.

That's an interesting move. Hopefully he can start to play to his potential.

Do they want to keep him?

At least he'll be easy to monitor. I notice Beswicks announced the other day he'd signed up with them as well.
Smart money's got to be on him never featuring for us in any meaningful way. He looked a decent enough gamble at the time. The Rangers fans were genuinely impressed and excited by his potential. I remember that going off their forum opinion at the time, consensus was Edu was a carthorse - but they saw something in this guy.
Maybe injuries have finished him off?Or maybe he was never really Prem-standard - he barely featured for Orient last year.
Hopefully he can pick it up a notch with regular football.

Do you think he'll get the train? If I played for Crewe I think I'd get the train..........

Saw him play for Orient against Crewe last year and was very poor, I'm not sure he's good enough for Crewe. There's no way in the world Crewe could get anywhere near the wages he's on here so it'll be a loan only.

He scored a few nice goals for Rangers when he broke onto the scene. But too many injuries at a time when he should really be getting game time and developing have probably ended his chances of a Premier League career now. Look at Guidetti who was a shadow of the player he was supposed to have been at Feyenoord.

I will be amazed if he ever plays in the Prem. H

It's a good point. He'll probably drive, bet he's got an Alfa Romeo. Superb on their day but spend most of their time out of action in the garage....

He looked alright in the pre season games in Germany, but then so did Shea. Hopefully they both get gametime this season wherever it may be.

part of the off-loading process. others need to follow in order to free up some wages for a final dip in the transfer market. i'd be happy to see one good addition coming to Stoke prior to the closure of the window

Mixed feelings about this. I'd like him to do well so we can flog him off and get a bit of cash back. On the other hand I'd really love to see Crewe get relegated so I wouldn't mind if he helped out in that regard.

Just come off to abuse and boos from the Crewe fans. It's all bad news bear at Gresty Road. When I first read the above I thought it was written in the first person, and I'm still shuddering at the grotesque mental image that opening sentence conjured up. Maybe I watched too many Carry On films as a youngster but I can't seem to help seeing smutty innuendo in the most innocent of prose.

Played today and was the worst player on the pitch and has been every time he has played. Way too slow on the ball and gives away possession too cheaply.
There's no way in a million years he'll play in the Premier league again or possibly not even the Championship. A truly awful signing.

I ask because my crewy season ticket holding mate did not single him out as being poor. I listened to the game on the radio and he had a stinker, heard a Crewe caller after who did single him out, in fact out of all the Crewe team, she only mentioned his name "as for Ness, well the least said about him the better, he's abysmal" i think was the phrase used.

Well that's pretty much what my mate said "they were all bad! he was no worse than the rest" Which is pretty bad if he has any illusions that he may be a premier league player, but not the worst player for Crwho today apparently. That's why I asked if he'd been, to see if it was true because he'd actually seen it or was it just an opportunist slagfest, because it sounded bad on the radio.

It's not a "slagfest" - mind you that does sound like an event well worth watching. It's reporting what's been reported.
I'm saying that i listened to the game...the commentator & summarizer said Ness was bad (as were the rest)...he got abuse when he was subbed ("Ness getting plenty of abuse there, not what you like to hear from your support but i guess they pay their money")...caller on the radio did single him out for abuse.
I'm not having a pop or a slagfest, i really want one of them. I'm passing on info about how one of the players who are on our books went on as a Crewe loanee today.

I've seen every game he has played and he hasn't had a single good game. Not one Alex fan I have ever spoke to thinks he should be starting ahead of Atkinson / Grant / Nolan or Turton.

Well if you think back to your posts about Crewe players I recall you saying we should have signed Max Clayton and you were adamant he's go for over a million when I said there's no way he was good enough and nobody would pay anywhere near that. He went on trial at various clubs and nobody thought he was worth a gamble and in the end they sold him for around 300k to Bolton.

I also saw him play against Crewe for Barnsley last season and was completely anonymous and got subbed off.
