Anybody else thought we'd just signed a new player? Yeah, I thought we'd signed a new Chinese lad.

I've heard a few "Bodge'un"s being mentioned.
Admittedly from the same people who gave us "Tunkee".

So how did you pronounce the David in Ginola or do you pronounce the James in Rodriguez? Presumably you ignore general consensus and pronounce it as if they were from Birmingham?
Do you say Hose or Jose for Mourinho?

Whenever we sign a player from abroad, one of the things I look forward to is listening to my Dad attempt to pronounce his name.

It's pronounced Boyans, as in Adams. It uses the same pronounced, but invisible "s".

Think it is really funny ... when watching "Flowery Twats" - young 'uns won't get that ... but we learned Man-Well instead of pronouncing man-u-al
Jose is called Hos-ay by all press now?
Just glad Bojan didn't sign on deadline day - can you imagine Rob Dorsett trying to translate his name to the tv "stokie tribe" live? :-)
I know it's confusing ... but don't take it too far and ask Yack Butland to give us a wave?

This stupid insistence of pundits and commentators trying to sound smart by pronouncing foreign footballers names in their native tongue is rediculous and embarrassing. Examples such as Hosay Mourinho, Davveeeeeeeed Ginola , Thierry Henry....it's Jose, David and Terry FFS. The most rediculous IMO is Sebastian Coates of Liverpool pronounces Co-at-ez. I'm going for Bojan with a j because that is how we pronounce it in Anglo Saxon pronunciation. Saying that, Bojangles would be a great nickname.
